This plate is made from fine grade clays and has been cast into a classic deep well mold design. The semi porcelain is the purest of bone white and the cobalt transfer pattern known as Delft has flowed beautifully into the white making the type of look that collectors of these wears are most passionate about. Great looking glaze on this one! Dug locally in a bottle dump in Macon. Ga. Has been attributed to the LONG family of Crawford County. Your comments welcome. It has no repairs or cracks. It has the'pot' marks out of it in a few places as seen. I really am not sure as to how these happened. Hey! May have been some boy's with their new Daisy BB guns playing around the dump? At lease it was not a powerful one! I have also seen this happen with air pockets under the glaze. See Pic's. BUT, a very nice piece of southern pottery no less.
