Beautiful Pioneer PL-A45D Turntable in excellent condition. Table has been tested and it plays wonderfully! The automatic arm functions properly. And I oiled the motor for a continued smooth operation. The belt is in good shape also. Nice table! The Shure M-95ED Cartridge sounds wonderful, and tracks great. The tonearm has both the end and side counter weights. And the 45 adapter. These are often missing, usually one or another, or sometimes all of them. Cosmetics are excellent also. The only flaws are some rub marks where the cover rests, and some faint cleaning rub marks on the top of the dust cover. There is 1 crack on the back of the dust cover by the hinge. It's not causing any issues, and the cover still lifts and lowers fine as is. See pic. The rest of the base is in beautiful condition. It puts out a minimum of 400 Watts Per Channel continuous RMS across the 20-20.000Hz range with that super low.005% distortion. Some power amps have high power into 8-Ohms but can overheat into 4-Ohm speakers and even blow up into 2-Ohms! Other high-end amps may deliver their highest power into 2-Ohms but then deliver half power into 4-Ohm speakers and very little power-for-the-money into 8-Ohm speakers. It’s just a compromise. Which can cook delicate microprocessor sections, which HATE heat. Everything jammed into one chassis means that the lifespan of the unit is shortened because ... moremore heat=shorter insulation life. As if that was not enough. These big receivers are almost impossible to repair. Circuit boards are stacked one on another, making access to lower board near impossible. Often. There are vertical plug-in smaller boards with one running along the bottom(the motherboard) and one running along the top. When there is a problem, the tech needs to GUESS what part is bad and take the top board off to get to the vertical boards. Then he/she replaces the suspect part and puts it all back together. A few of these attempts. And he/she calls the company. They suggest replacing the ENTIRE board. This means a much larger repair bill. Even worse. After a few years, that board will not be available. It’s new receiver time…again. Moderately priced receivers($500-1000) are ok. But if you want a better investment, ALWAYS BUY SEPERATES! I was at a HiFi show once and someone came up to me. He was quite old. He had bought one single high-end tube power amp in the 1960s made by a famous company in Binghamton. NY.
