Bought a bag of Jewelry yesterday and when going thru it found this Necklace and Bracelet. But the Cross is what caught my eye. I don't think this was made like this. Or someone did it them selves. I looked to see if i could take the cross off by itself. I was going to put on just a chain. But you would need some wire snips or something to cut thru the clasp holding it onto the necklace. The front of the brooch has 3 Turquoise beads and a hand engraved design on the bottom. The Piece is in great used condition with some normal wear. On the back of the brooch there is a little rectangle were it appears it might of been signed and hallmarked. But it's faded and I can't make it out. This portion can also be worn as a brooch or pin with the hinged bail tucked into the back. The pendant measures 1 5/8" long. 1" wide, and stands 3/8" high off the frame. Note that the needle is a bit wavy, and there is no locking mechanism on the clasp. The box chain measures 25 1/4" long. It is marked 14K on the tane, and 585 on the spring ring clasp. Note this clasp has a small dent visible under magnification. It still functions appropriately. The chain weighs 3.6 grams as shown. Estate 14k Gold Heavy Chain Pocket Watch Fob 20.6 grams no scrap
Up for auction today is a beautiful and unique art deco watch fob in solid. Marked 585 which 14k. This fob also has two onyx panels which sets off the gold nicely and really add to the deco feel. Fob came off a 1930's Vacheron& Constantin pocket watch so I am not sure if this is a Vacheron so bid accordingly. The only problem I can see with the fob is a slight incursion in one of the onyx panels. The stone is not chipped and mark may be natural to the stone, it is smooth to the touch. I have looked this bracelet over extensively and I have been unable to find any areas where there is gold loss down to the underlying metal. It really looks as though it is brand new.
