Jackson 658-1 Dynamic Output Tube Tester This unit has been electrically brought back to specs. New 1% resistors. 5 watt power resistors, 450V capacitors. All factory solder joints have been checked/repaired. ALL diodes have been replaced. Please check your tubes for shorts. This can be a touchy unit. It's true what you read online you may get into the habit of tapping the meter to get the needle to set. If you know of a solution I would be happy to incorporate that into the rebuild before shipping. This unit has been calibrated using a Fluke 87 for currents and voltages. Sencore went the high road with aesthetics. And sold these back in the 1960s for huge money. Hickok Model 600A Tube Tester - working, partially restored.
You are bidding on a Hickok 600A tube tester. It is in working condition but needs to be calibrated. I purchased this earlier this year from a shuttered TV/Electronic repair shop. This tester was apart when I found it and was missing it's power cord. Case lid and screws and the 83 mercury rectifier tube. I replaced the power cord, some drippy wax capacitors and installed an 83 tube. I did not clean or calibrate- I have done MINIMAL work/trouble shooting on it- only repairing to the point of seeing if it was functional or not to sell. I have two other Hickok testers and this one reads lower than both of them. It could definitely use a good cleaning of all contacts and switches. Tube sockets are all tight, knobs are all there and original and meter works. Also includes updated, bound tube setup guide and operating instructions. Holds line ... morevoltage fine. As with all testers that use a mercury rectifier, it needs to warm up fully before testing any tubes. Case and tester show some wear around some of the switches, not bad, but enough to mention. Case is missing top cover. The price of these testers are ridiculous on eBay so I'm starting this one reasonably- with no reserve. Or buy it now and save the trouble. Summary: Used. Vintage Hickok Military TV 2 C/U Tube Tester
This is a vintage TV 2 tube tester made by LaPointe Industries in good condition. Serial number is# 200. If you know this tube tester it can test many types of tubes with adjustments of many tube variables. I tested a few tubes with this recently after bringing it up slowly on a Variac. It seems to work as described in an online manual I found. But as with any vintage electronics it may need some refurbishment for good operation. This is also not calibrated. One small issue is a hairline crack in the glass on the signal meter. It's very difficult to see, but I wanted to disclose at least everything that I observed. Tube selection roll rotates freely and is in good condition. This is considered a portable tube tester of the dynamic mutual conductance type, but it does weigh almost 40 lbs. Eico 625 Tube Tester- Working& Calibrated! HAM Here's another nice Eico model 625 tube tester from my collection. It's one of the later models with the brushed aluminum face that many prefer. It has the old 4. 5, 6& 7-pin sockets that you need if you're restoring vintage radios. Of course it also has the"modern" octal, loctal, 7-pin miniature and 9-pin miniature sockets too. The test circuit of the Eico 625 was taken from the Triplett model 3413. It is virtually identical to the Heathkit TC-2, TC-3, IT-21, IT-17 and IT-3117, and the Knight KG-600 series of testers, and test data for these instruments is generally interchangeable. The"W" at the end of serial number and the inspection stamp and initials on the roll chart support, identify this as a factory wired tester- perhaps important if you want to ... morebe sure it was done correctly. The Eico series of test instruments were intended for professional use. And were marketed mostly to radio and TV repairmen through the local electronic parts dealerships, and their construction shows it. The professional looking brushed aluminum panel was designed to inspire confidence in the customer who saw it, and the heavy steel case of this instrument was intended to protect it well. To ensure accuracy of a newly built kit. Eico didn't provide any calibration adjustments for this model tester, relying instead on the inherent accuracy achieved by the use of close tolerance components in the measuring circuits. I just compared test resultes between my Amplitrex AT1000 and this tester on a 6SN7GT and the results were within 2% Tester is in good working condition. All the controls are smooth and do what they should. Tube chart will need some work as it is sometimes loose and then it gets tight. As you can see from the pictures. It is quite clean. The front panel looks VERY good. Cabinet does show wear typical of a 50 year old instrument. All tubes are tested using my Calibrated Western Electric KS-15750-L2(Similar to Hickok 539B) or my Amplitrex AT1000 The tubes will be individually wrapped and packed safely for shipping. This sale is for a TV-7D/U. The serial number is 8669. The photo of the invoice reads. This tester is in great shape and shows little wear. After some minor tweaks, the unit settled in and should provide many years of service. I reconnected the meter and installed a replacement meter capacitor. I also added meter protection diodes. I replaced the octal socket saver. I adjusted the cal pots as needed. All the sockets are good and I checked/ adjusted each pin with my gauges to assure them. The test data and more info is sent along with the tester. The test settings book, grid/plate test leads and a new cord where added. This work was done July 2013. TV-2/U tube tester/ checker in very good used condition. As far as I know. All functions work properly and seem to be in good calibration. I've tested many tubes on this tester and never had any problem. All meters, switches and controls work properly and accurately. This tester will test many Western Electric tubes including 300B type. I've mainly used it for 6L6 type power tube matching. I have been selling off much of my collection since I have retired. Here are just a very few examples of tubes this tester can test: WE 274A/B, 300B, WE 310A, WE 350A, 12AX7, 801A, 807, 5691, 5692, 5693, 6146, 00A, 01A and 0Z4 as well as most loctal tubes and early double digit tubes. It will also check many ballast tubes. This tester can closely match tubes because of its ability to individually control plate, screen and grid voltages. There is a roll chart mounted inside the case on the lid that covers most common electron tubes. There is also a booklet that I will enclose that gives the data settings needed for testing many more tubes. The test leads have been replaced with the correct high voltage type insulation. The red lead is typically deteriorated in these testers so having good test leads is a plus for you. The power cord has also been replaced with a new grounded type. Condition is very good. There are a few dings(a small dent on the bottom of the case near one of the feet) and paint chips due to normal age and use. Overall. It is very presentable for your workbench. There are also two things I would like to note with this tester: 1) As can be seen by the photos, the grey paint has flaked off especially on the left side and some on the right side as well as the bottom near the pushbutton switches. 800x600 This is a model 539C transconductance tube tester made by Hickok. It is in very good to excellent condition. I tested some tubes on this and it appears to work fine. Notice the EL34. 6L6G, and 12AX7, tube under a test. Includes grid/ plate clip lead, and original manual with tube setting data. Serial number is 29200870. The case is in good condition with a few scuffmarks. Front panel looks very good and has only a few scratches. I cannot guarantee this unit is calibrated, and will probably need some calibration, due to age. All meters and switches work. Produced in the 1960's I believe. When fully working, this model is capable of testing for dynamic mutual conductance, emissions, shorts, life test, and grid leakage. Good physical condition. With some signs of rust on metal/chrome band that goes around the case. Handle/latches work fine. Unit weighs about 22lbs by itself. Opened up the unit to take a picture of internals for potential buyers. Saw one resistor(upper left in photo) that appeared to have some signs of overheating. And one of the tubes(upper one in picture) appears to have some white residue inside(not sure if that's normal or sign of a bad tube) Shipping charge is set for cross-country charge. Sencore TC-162 Mighty Mite Tube Tester Great Shape Fully Functional
Here is a Sencore TC162 vacuum tube tester that is in really good shape. It is part of my collection of many tube testers and is fully functional. It is shown in one picture testing a 6V6 tube. It has a safety power cord and the inside panel is great looking. I do not know of its last calibration. However, comparing it to values obtained on a tube by my calibrated machines, it's spot on. The small rubber feet have become very brittle and will need replacing if you so desire. This of course does not affect performance. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking. Sencore MU-150 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Fully Functional
Due to having 2 of these testers. I have decided to sell one of them. This is a Sencore MU-150 mutual conductance tube tester that was electrically restored and calibrated in March, 2003. I would very safely say that I have tested about 25 tubes on it since then. It works great. I ran a test this morning on a 12AU7, seen in the photos, and it performed fine. There is normal wear on the unit, to be expected. There is a date inside the unit on the meter back of 1968. The 2 tubes it uses were both tested on the other like it and tested good for emissions, shorts, and mutual conductance. This is a great tester for folks that like to"tube roll" their amplifiers. Rare Vintage Solar model BQC 1-60 Capacitor Tester Bridge Eye Tube
Up for auction is a capacitor tester by Solar Mfg. I cannot find any information on this rare model. At about 6x5x5 inches. It is portable in comparison to the other testers by Solar. Vintage Seco Model 88 Grid Circuit and Tube Merit Tester w/ Manuals Powers Up
Vintage Seco Model 88 Tube Tester in very good used condition. I honestly don't know anything about running these. But it did power up and gave a reading for a tube I put in it. No real damage, just general wear from use. Please see all the pictures, they are a large part of the description. Please ask any questions prior to bidding.
