Here's a very nice Precision model 640"cathode conductance" tube tester. It's in very clean condition and it works excellent. I tested a bunch of tubes(6L6.EL34, El-84, 807, 809, 811A, 12Ax7, 6u8, 5u4, 6146, 2e26, etc)and it gives an accurate condition of the tube's emission. This will test most all of the 4, 5 6 and seven pin large base tubes as well as octal loctal 7 and 9 pin and miniatures. This will test most(smaller) transmitting tubes. All of the controls work smoothly( replaced the line adj pot) and there are no issues with the meter. This has shown very light use. ITEM: ~ PHILCO 7050 TUBE TESTER The case and panel are in good condition showing some wear from age/ use. There are 9 test sockets and 1 punch-out for future expansion. There are copied instructions and over 50 pages of tube test chart data which are revealed by opening the side panel on the right. Dimensions: 14" W x 15" D x 10" H. I performed my usual tube tester tests with known value tubes(as seen in pics) and the tester tested my tubes correctly ie Good for Good tubes and Bad for bad/weak tubes. I did notice that the 12AX7 tube tested high. The"LINE" Line Check) control knob at times had to be set on the last setting on the panel. So an adjustment/repair possibly required. The wire lead that is used to test tubes with top caps has some damage but still usable and easily repaired/replaced. This tester tested my ... moretest tubes correctly but like all vintage electronics they do need a check up and need calibration for optimum results. Up for auction is this Vintage Jackson Model 648R Dynamic Tube Tester in Case. This tester is in Good condition. I powered the tester on and everything seems to work as it should. I do not have any tubes to further test the machine but the meter works as it should. The tester is in Good cosmetic condition. All of the original buttons and knobs are present and intact on the tester. The lights on the tester work as they should as well. The tester comes in its original carrying case. The case does show signs of wearing from use over the years but is still intact. I took a lot of pictures to show you what you are receiving. Hickok 600A Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester for Parts / Project
Greetings vintage electronic Lovers, Collectors and Techs! Up for auction are the electronics and face for a Hickok 600A.The entire case has gone missing. I bought this a couple of years ago with a large lot of electronics and meant to have it brought back to operating condition and never got around to it. I bought a 6000A before that happened and its time to pass this one along. As you can see in the pictures there is no case.What you see in the pictures is what you get.The unit is in fairly good cosmetic condition.I vacuumed as much dust of of it as I could.My air compressor is not working and I didn't want to disturb any of the electronic connections so I didn't get all of it. A few things I noticed: First off.This tester does power up! At least two modern capacitors have been installed. There is some engraving that suggests the ... moreshort/ test switch was replaced in 1968 A modern grounded power cord has been added as well. The meter needle moves when the adjustment screw is turned. The tube type information scroll moves freely all the way in both directions. From what I see.There is a good chance that this tester doesn't need much to bring it back to life and a simple wooden box can be built to house it. The tester in in excellent working condition. It's beautiful, I don't know that a guy could ask for much more. It comes with the original build books, and even the supplementary tube charts. The inside shows very little signs of use, the outside has just a few scuffs. Only other thing worth mentioning, 2 of the rubber stick on feet have come off the case. The tester hasn't been used since the early 80's. I can't say it enough, excellent condition. Thanks for looking! All controls operate and function as they should. The meter movement is smooth and surrounded by a great looking panel. This tester is ideal for guitar amplifiers. Radio, jukebox and TV tubes. It is easy to use, has a copy of the operating instructions and schematic. The roll chart is in very good condition and moves easily from one end of the chart to the other. The Eico 625 will test popular tube types like the 12AX7 and 6L6. Etc. right up to later introductions as well as most older types. An original"obsolete tube" chart is included for testing 01A's. ... more45's and other early radio tubes. The roll chart is in great shape and smoothly glides from one end of the chart to the other. Parts or Repair Here's a very used Radio city Products Model 808 tube tester I'm offering up sor fale as parts or repair complete with the two tubes. there is no roll chart. Or owner's manual included. From what I found online, it is from 1956 or so and in addition to being a tube tester it also is a voltmeter, capacitor tester, CRT tester and CRT rejuvenator. cosmetically, it's rough with lots of surface scratches and rust spot. the case is a nice oak veneer, but does have a chip or two in the corner. I'm a bit tempted to keep the case for restoration and use as a record case for my audio journeys, but we'll see how the auction goes first. I've tested it and it responds to the line voltage setting. But I'm not able to get a test on a tube as I have no chart for ... moresettings so I'm selling it AS IS for parts or repair. This looks to be a decent tester that could be brought back to glory by the proper restorer or used as a harvest piece to restore nicer looking testers. The tubes are tested in this unit at a fixed plate potential of approximately 150 volts less the IR drop in the circuits of the unit. Similarly a fixed screen grid test potential of about 130 volts is provided. By suitable adjustment of the grid bias as prescribed. Satisfactory test may be made both on tubes normally operating at lower plate potentials and on tubes normally operating at high plate potentials ... moreup to about 300 volts. In English this tester tests all types of audio tubes including the 300Bs because of the unit’s high signal voltage. In 2006 I had the unit completely upgraded and calibrated by www.alltubetestors.com(known to be the best tube tester repair company available) spending $454.55. I had the following work performed(I can provide a copy of the repair invoice) Repair/Calibrate: Replaced leaky and out of spec capacitors and resistor. New Gm meter· Solid State SS-83 replacement for 83 mercury vapor rectifier tube. Solid State SS-5Y3 replacement for 5Y3 rectifier tube. Look for some REALLY interesting items in the coming months! While this tester is nice enough to reside in a museum. It deserves to be used analyzing tubes as its capabilities are significantly better than those of your garden variety tube tester! As the label says. It was made by Hickock specifically for Western Electric. It was used in a laboratory at the Bell System. It was not trotted about very much, as the case is in very good condition. Electrically it is the same as my old 539 but has a separate meter for Grid Bias and a separate meter for the AC Line adjust. In addition. It dispenses with the"English" pot, the"Good/Bad" Emission Test rating, and depends upon ... morethe user to understand the meaning of the Gm reading. Gm ranges are from 3.000 full scale to 60,000 full scale, with selection of high and low signal tube types. Filament voltage is selectable from 1.1 volts to 117 volts. Grid bias is fully adjustable in two ranges. 0 to 6 and 0 to 60 volts. There is also an option for testing in self-bias mode. This tester also allows you to plug in a headphone to the"Noise Test" pin jacks and listen to the tube. Either in static operation for random noise or in a test wherein you tap the tube and listen for microphonics(a very important test) Unlike most Hickock testers. With this model allows you to lock the P4 test position by pressing"P4 Lock" This allows you to watch tube operation over time without needing to hold the P4 button. Hickok TV-7/U Tube Tester in Great Condition - Calibrated all Within SPECS
Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Working& Very Nice Conditon all Within SPECS Hiclok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Works very good and installed new JAN 83 and 5y3GT rectifiers. Would normally say it was calibrated. But according to the manual, it was only tested& adjusted. Bias voltages all within specs, 22, 50, 75, and 100. The plate voltage was checked according to the manual, with a 375k resistor parallel from the cathode to the plate, pin 6& 3, and it is right at 150 volts and specs call for 150 volts. The high screen voltage used the same resistor on pins 6& 4 and was at 129 volts and specs call for 130 + or– 3 volts. The low screen voltage was checked and at 56 and specs call for 56 volts. Also, checked the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket and it is at 6.1 volts. This was all in the manual and all the manuals and ... moreupdated tube data can be found here: Tested a 6L6 and there are pictures of that test below and the data says the minimum for a 6L6 is 25 and this one tests at 35. The meter reads on a 0– 120 scale and I am sure there is a way to convert to Gm. But that info was not included in any of the manuals. The tester looks like it has been used very little and is in really nice condition. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions. Hickok 600A Tube Tester Nice Condition Works Great & Accurate
Hickok 600A mutual conductance tube tester. Great working condition and can be seen in the photos in the line adjust position and testing a 6L6 calibration tube with accurate results. The calibration tube has a value of 5050 micromhos and this tester is showing a value of 5100 micromhos so it is very close and accurate and tested several other tubes also with great results. It has not been calibrated and test results were close to my calibrated TV-7D/U so I did not see the need to do so. The meter& panel are in excellent shape and all sockets are clean and tight and all knobs. Switches, buttons and roll chart work freely and as they should. The outer case has some nicks and scrapes but is in great shape compared to most I have seen. The power cord is a bit stiff and has some minor cracks in the outer covering but nothing exposed and does ... morenot affect anything but just wanted to mention it and there is no manual but you can download online or purchase one off ebay cheap. This Tube tester was part of my fathers collection. He restored antique radios. I tested a known good 12au7 tube with it and it passed all tests. I learned how to test tubes from my father as a kid. Beautiful condition used Hickok 533A vacuum tube tester. 2 capacitors look to have been replaced. This tester is in good basic working order. And very clean! It powers up, goes up to line test, and tests a known good 6L6 tube strong. roll chart is tight and rolls freely. Most tube testers sold will need to be calibrated. its a given. Unless the seller can provide you with the calibration specs. Almost any tube tester will need calibrated. this tester hasnt been used in years, but does test well. The case looks to be made of solid oak and has wonderful dovetailed corners. The case itself is a great piece. It does have some wear and scratching from being used over the years. But. When it comes to oak wood, that just adds character. The tester itself looks to be in really good condition for it’s age. I had it looked at locally and they said it could maybe use some new lead cables and that the insulation around them was showing signs of drying out and cracking. But. That’s a pretty simple fix. B&K 747 Tube Tester. Low Hours, Excellent Condition 747 is a very good tester. It is a mutual conductance tester. And always holds calibration well. This is a very portable tester. Sometimes the tests that need to be done don't require sophisticated analysis the real requirement is weight and reliability. It's 13 pounds. The TV-7 weighs 19 pounds and a clean low hours example costs at least twice as much, maybe more. The 747 us a usefull instrument to have on hand. Most vacuum tube hi-fi equipment lovers have more than one tester for a backup. This example appears an accurate low hours example. There is no finter tip wear on the the usual places. Here is an unusual old tube tester in it's original box. It tests for open and burned out filaments. It has a pair of test leads. Instruction manual, and a short pamphlet on finding faulty tubes in your TV along with the main unit. The tester housing is plastic. I'm not sure if it works, but I don't think there's to much that could go wrong with it. The red housing measures approximately; 3 1/2" by 2 3/4" by 1 5/16" thick. The box is in fair condition. Great condition Senore CRT Tube Tester. Model CR143. Works great. I purchased and used it for years to service TV's and checked many tubes with this and even repaired them with this great tester. I no longer need it as I do not repair TV's now. Comes with two sets of adapters, booklet, and manual.
