Leeds& Northrup Test set 5430-A Galvanometer/ Wheatstone Bridge. Nic e untested condition. Specification sheet shows multiple tests that this instrument can perform. Unlike the other instruments I have listed there is no service date so I have no idea how old this is. Most of the instruments/ meters I have been listing are 50's/ 60's. Nice 1/4 sawn oak case with corner protectors and leather strap. Usual nicks and dings for an old test tool but overal nice condition. There is a stain around the battery box compartment and a ding just above it. Other scratches and dings. The brass plate on the front left side has 2 screws and when open reveals the battery holder. I have sold others but this one has a nice additional feature with an Eagle Lock and also includes the original key. Cool looking device with lots of dials and switches ... moreto set so that Scottie can beam you up or perhaps more in keeping with actual use. Check for Grounded wire. Varley Loop test. Rheostat as a resistance box, Murray loops test. Nice old used service instrument for the display or use if you know how to test these. 9 inches long by 7 1/2 inches wide and 6 inches high. Comes from the living estate of a man who was once a science professor here in South Carolina. Volt box functions as it is supposed to with no issies. Case is in excellent shape. Maker of the famous K-Tran IF transformers and a major division of General Instrument Corporation manufacturing coils, component assemblies, and products for the military and consumer electronics. I purchased this from GI Corp. when we closed up the Chicopee R&D facility around 1990. It still has the original L&N cloth tag and the GI Test Lab tag. I have not used this instrument since I bought it, but it was in working condition when in the Test Lab inventory. It will be a beautiful addition to your collection. Vintage Leeds & Northrup Co Potentiometer 188822
This is a vintage Leeds& Northrup Co of Philadelphia 188822 potentiometer. Former Colorado University(not specified but probably CU) physics department instrument. I'm not sure how this works. So I can't test it out for you. Overall condition is very good, the top has very light wear and damage(tiny chips out of the edges, light scratching) but needs to be dusted and polished, the wooden case has some scratches and dings on the sides, heavier scratching on the bottom. Measures approximately 32 cm x 18 cm x 10 cm tall excluding the height of the knobs and dials. The voltage dial has a small brownish stain at one place on the dial.

1920 Leeds& Northrup Inductor Inductometer 95730 Up for auction is a 1920 Leeds& Northrup Inductor Inductometer. This item is in good condition with some minor cosmetic wear from normal use. There are a few minor scratches on the item but nothing that will effect the functionality of the item. The dial is in good condition along with the two sets of power connections. The words and numbers are all visible on the dial as well. Please refer to the photos below for more details on the item. This item was connected to a volt meter and did show power. We changed the dial all the way to zero and then tested it. The P set showed 35.2 Ohms and the S set showed 30.6 Ohms. We then changed the dial to the maximum and it showed the same voltage. This item does show power but other than testing it with a volt meter there is no way for us to test ... morethis item any further. The meter receives 3"D" cell batteries in the side compartment to boost meter sensitivity. The compartment looks clean with no corrosion. I have cleaned the tarnish off the connection coil inside the compartment for better connection. I took a wire and measured resistance on it. I set the dials to number 1. When I depressed the proper buttons the needle showed negative resistance and when I set the dials to 0 I got positive resistance. Although I don't completely know what I'm doing it appears the meter works with"D" cell batteries. I can not guarantee it's accuracy. The meter can also be use with an outside source of electricity. Up for auction is this circa 1920 Leeds and Northrup Resistance Bridge with full schematics on bottom. The l&N stock# is 60646. It is housed in a stunning wood case and the previous owner constructed a protective wood cover(not pictured) as a bonus! The underside of the piece has the original schematics framed in original brass holder. We are not experts in these items but we have sold quite a few pieces from this former owner and most were in up to date serviced condition. While we do not guarantee. We will bet it works well!
