They have been tested in both repeater and base station mode. It has a beautifully rich audio quality. These are designed to be used to drive a high power amplifier. They also can be used as a satellite receiver in a voted system and have built in status(pilot) tone generators to supply constant status tone to the voter. This is an electronic item and has no warranty other than it will not be DOA. This repeater/base is still in production by Kenwood and service/parts are available. These repeaters are considered Kenwood's top of the line commercial analog repeater and retails new: List $3438.00 just for the ... morerepeater unit. The repeater unit consists of a high quality receiver with a built in tunable band pass filter 5 Mhz wide.
