Hello you are bidding on a model 3 point 71 planter with IH McCormick fertilizer attachment(just wanted to keep the JD and the IH people happy) I made this out of two 71 planter units and the fertilizer was from a IH planter The planter units have been gone through and work great. Now the fertilizer is run off of hydraulics from the tractor I have used it on a Minneaplois Moline Jetstar Massey Fergeson 265 Ford 340 many different tractors and have not had a problem overheating I only do about 4-6 acres at a time used for sweet corn and food plots. These planter units can plant almost anything corn. Beans, sugar beets, just need the plates I have a few plates to go with the planter mostly for corn they can be bought on Ebay many are for sale. I also have the different size sprockets that change the population count per row. If you see in the ... morephoto I installed a 12 volt DC monitor and this is run off of a small battery that comes on fish locators or many other devices 12 volt dc 7 amp per hour This does not monitor the seed what it does is it make sure the drive chain on the unit has not fallen off. I had people use it and back up and knock the chain off before the planter was up NEVER BACK UP A CORN PLANTER WHEN IT"S IN THE GROUND! John Deere 1240 Planter Hopper
From a local estate is a John Deere 1240 Planter Hopper. I am not sure of the exact model so please double check. But I beleive this fits a 1240. I could not find a part number on it. It measures 10" by 16" at the top and stands 20" tall. The hopper is in good used shape showing some surface rust at the bottom-still solid though-see pics. I only have an oversized box to put this in so this is going to have to ship oversized from the post office. I know the 1240 was only made a few years so parts for these are hard to find! Antique Garden Seeder Planter Very Very Old. Good Condition John Deere Bolens
You are looking at a very old garden planter. The wheels are wooden spoked wrapped in tin. Two wheels are missing. I do not know the make however the original paint is intact and appears it could be a John Deere green or bolens green.
