This is a Purina Checkerboard 3 Blade Stockman Pattern Pocket Knife made by Kutmaster. Utica, NY. It has the clear celluloid handles with the Purina checkerboard advertising inside of both sides of the knife. It has not been used or sharpened. And, possibly not carried, however, it did not escape the effects of time. It was possibly sitting in the sun for many years as it has some cracks at 3 pins(see photos) There is also some shrink that is evident along the length-wise edges. The blades show no effects of sharpening or use. And are full, but the clip does have some age patina and a slight bit of pepper. It has the clip blade. A spey and pen blades. Blades& case do exhibit some wear/age/handling, few minor nicks/dings/scruffs" here& there to the case& ends& missing that"snap" when blades opened or closed, may come back after cleaning/lube etc(was found in an old tool box in an old basement just last weekend) Could use general& overall cleaning, ... morelube, etc. Tough for me to tell if either blade was ever ground down or shortened, both saw obvious re-sharpening. The blades have good snap, opening and closing nicely. Overall the knife is in nice condition showing signs of age and use, with scratches, scuffs, tarnish spots, and a couple small dings on one handle. The blade has a series of marks or symbols cut in that appear to be representative of the markings found on early European trade blades- we have seen similar markings on Firangi blades. The hilt is secured with the addition of a centre pin and this is often associated with older swords from North India or Afghanistan. In the hand this feels a well balanced, manoeuvrable weapon.
