This is a beautiful red leaf weeping Japanese Maple that would normally run $50-$100 for a three to five year old tree and you can easily grow it for next to nothing. It will grow into a beautiful specimen tree for your landscaping. If you can grow a tomato plant then you can easily grow a Japanese Maple as well. Hardiness: Zones 6-8 Japanese Maples require 3-5 months of cold stratification in order to germinate. Expect 50%100% germination. Determine the last chance of frost for your area then count backwards 3-5 months. That is when cold stratification should begin. If May 1st is the last chance of frost in you area then start the stratification some time between Dec. 1st and March 1st. It is ok to store seeds until then. Keep them dry and store them in a refrigerator until you are ready to stratify them. How to treat a tree seed: Most trees and shrubs require a stratification process in order to germinate. Stratification is the process of subjecting seeds to both cold and moist conditions. Typically. S eeds are layered(stratified) between layers of moist soil and then exposed to winter conditions by placing the seeds in a refrigerator. Temperatures must be between 34°F and 41°F. Use peat moss as the medium for cold stratifying seeds. The medium must be sterile to prevent harm to the seed by pathogens including fungi. To accomplish this you merely place the seeds in a sealed plastic bag(zip lock is fine) with moistened peat and refrigerate it. Vintage Ornamotion Star Tree Top Rotator
This is a wonderful piece of memorabilia. Probably from the sixties. The star stands still at the top of the tree, an ornament is added to the hook inside the star, the star is plugged into one of the light sockets and the ornament begins to rotate. It really is a beautiful sight especially if the lights reflect off of the ornaments and if you have rotators on several other ornaments on the tree. The star rotator is in working condition and looks as if it has just been bought. A word of caution: The star is quite heavy and required either a very firm tree tip or a way to attach it to the ceiling above it to prevent its falling over. I put an invisible line from the star to the ceiling and held it up that way. It works quite well when the tree top is not very firm. The Disney Cel is nicely framed and matted. It was bought at auction in june 1989. I had it framed and it hung in my sons room from 1993 on. when it was framed 20 years ago. Village framers used acid free matting and UV resistant glass. There is a pocket on back of the frame that has the auction program from when it was purchased back in 1989. Figs are easy to grow and the fruits are delicious fresh. Dried or cooked. The large green leaves are beautiful in the garden. Chicago hardy Fig is one of the most prolific figs to grow in cold areas of the northern area. It has a pot culture and best for backyard gardener. The fall fruits are born on the new canes that grow during the summer. The figs are of excellent flavor. Stem hardy to 10 degrees F. Root hardy to-20 degrees F. This is the 1988 Wedgwood Ornament of a lovely Christmas Tree in white surrounded by blue holly leaves and berries! It comes in the classic"Wedgwood Blue" with white bas relief design. This is for 4 cuttings like the ones in the picture. They measure about 6 to 8 inches long. The Peter's Honey Fig tree fruit is a light yellow-green color with an outstanding sweet dark amber flesh. The Peter's Honey Fig Tree grows from 15-25 feet tall and wide. Brought from Sicily. This fig is one of the best. The fig has a closed eye so ants can't get in and spoil the fig. The skin is a beautiful shiny yellow green when ripe. And the flesh is superb for fresh eating, drying and canning. Fast growing tree. This is a hand made ceramic Christmas Tree display. It is a forest green color with hand painted frosted edges and multi color plastic lights. I have found some imperfections in the painting of the frosting detail as you can see in the photos.they are simply paint drips and lines. I have found some very minor wear in the color that is not noticeable when displayed. A few of the plastic light were loose and I hot glued them back into place. I found NO chips. Nicks, cracks, repairs, only minor surface crazing on the base. The electric light fixture with on/off switch is in excellent. Clean, working order. It's overall height when assembled is 19 inches. Large Timeless Collectibles Limited Edition Christmas Santa Claus. This Santa. Named"Whitewater Santa" was originally purchased back in 1993. From Kellogg MN. Numbered 442 of 1500. Comes with original tag and sticker on bottom. Real rabbit fur trimmed hat. Measures approx. 18" tall and the widest side of the base measures approximately 14" He is in excellent condition. With only one small flaw that a rock and some moss is missing from the left hand side(see last photo) Very easily replaced. Set comes with a separate tree. Please see all photos for details.
