Sea Almond Tree Terminalia catappa The colourful Sea Almond Tree is among the most common trees in our region. Growing wild as well as cultivated as a popular wayside tree. The tree has a characteristic pagoda shape because it sends out a single stem from the top centre. When the single stem reaches a good height. It sends out several horizontal branches. This fast-growing tree grows on sandy shores. The leaves form a rosette and are found only at the end of a branch. During the dry season. The leaves turn into autumn colours of red, copper, gold. The tree usually sheds all its leaves twice a year in January-February and July-August. The tree first drops its leaves when it reaches 3-4 years old. The green almond-shaped fruit turns red to purple when ripe. The seeds are dispersed by water. The smooth outer skin covers an inner layer of corky ... morefibres which surround the nut. For your consideration is a wonderful vintage ceramic Department 56 snow covered cottage or house with a flocked and decorated Christmas tree light that is just charming! The tree was originally covered in multi-colored plastic ornaments that lights. The lighting outfit takes a standard nightlight or Christmas bulb. Has a two-prong plug to fit any outlet. You can replace the plastic lights if so desired. Measures about 6.25" at its tallest x 9" across x by 5.25" at the base. Looks like the tree once was separated from the house and it was repair. Everything looks great and works beautifully. Colors still bright. Retains original tag on the bottom. Sure to bring back fond memories of Christmas past! This is a vintage 6' aluminum Treasure Pine Christmas tree. It was made by the Metal Trees Corp. Chicago, IL. It has 56 branches that are al in individual sleeves. It has a top that is in a cardboard sleeve. It has a plastic silver colored base that measures 12" across. There are two wood poles that go together and they have holes in to insert the branches in.
