Vintage Whitefriars Pale Green Art Glass Small Bubble Vase / Beaker / Tumbler
Up for auction is a wonderful vintage Whitefriars small vase. Beaker or tumbler in a pale moss green colour with bubble pattern. The colour looks different in different light conditions- I have tried to show this in the photos which have all been taken in natural daylight. I believe it dates from the 1940's or 1950's. Polished pontil to base. It measures a pprox 4.5 inches or 12 cms tall& 3.75 inches or 9.5 cms across at the widest point at the opening. Condition: Very good vintage used condition with no chips. Cracks or restoration. Most of the glass I sell is vintage and as such you can expect some wear to the base commensurate with age& use as well as some isolated marks and scratches to the body of the item associated with age& use. Here is a vintage handcrafted bell from Fenton Art Glass USA. The bell measures approximately 4 1/2" tall. It is a pale pink color with a diamond pattern on the inside. The bottom has a perfectly ground and polished pontil. The cruet is in very good estate condition with no damage or restoration noted. I have seen reference to this once before. A lovely peppermint green heavily painted in a floral theme in dusky pink. Lemon, green, blue and lilac. The gold embellishment to the cup, saucer and plate is thick and the only wear is on the inside ring on the side plate. A delicate floral spray inside the teacup just finished it off. This is a lovely and elegant pale green vase by the incomparable English ceramics firm Crown Devon. With its classical lines. It would complement a variety of décors or make a great addition to any Crown Devon collection. The back stamp suggests the 5 3/4 inch vase was produced in the late 1930s/early 1940s. It is in excellent condition with no marks. Scratches, nicks or cracks, and the gold trim is entirely intact. Despite its age, it appears to have been little used. There is a tiny and barely detectable underglaze bump that was created in the manufacturing process. Please examine the photos closely– that's the best way to appreciate the quality and beauty of this simple and classically elegant vase.
