About 3 inches long, but since they are individually made they will vary somewhat in size. These were used to collect sap from the maple trees, tapped into a hole drilled into the tree and the sap would run out through a hole drilled through the center and into a bucket hung from the wire hook. The entire piece has many varieties of garden flowers, of mixed colors. Included are red rose buds, black-eyed-Susan, blue forget-me-nots, purple tulips, daisies, purple Iris, Rhododendron(or snowball bush) and lavender Morning Glory vine on the top. This floral painting is superbly done on a country blue background. Finished with a very THICK clear, shiny, protective GLAZE coating. A matching tin roof was added to the top as a'critter deflector' But it can also be used to keep out rain-water, sun, or wind. It would even make a very lovely bird-house. This piece of folk art is intricately painted with a detailed painting of sap gathering to make maple syrup. It is an original painting in the style of a Grandma Moses painting signed by"E Jennifer'81" The scene is of the gathering of the sap. There are four human figures and 4 oxen in the picture which goes all around the jug. The trees have the gathering buckets attached to them and there are men with the harnesses on their shoulders carrying buckets to the shack.
