here we have a nice set of 6 NICHOLSON BLACK DIAMOND Hand Saw Sharpening files. These are the small triangle files best used for Dovetail saws and others that have small PPI Teeth. not counting the tang these files measure about 5 inch long. The 4 measures about 3/16 inch wide and two are slightly larger. the 4 are marked B.D. and what looks like Extra Slim. The two slightly larger ones are marked Black Diamond and extr slim too it looks like. All are marked Made in USA.Condition is EXCELLENT, I don't think they ever have been used and teeth are fine, nice and sharp.If you have been wanting to sharpen your saws here are the files you will need to do a good job.Starting auction off low with no reserve and only $5.80 postage anywhere in the USA

One of the Disston saws has a plastic handle and missing button, but still signed Disston. The other Disston saw seems to be older and has a sort of rounded blade on the back, signed Disston with button. The last is a Warrented Superior saw and has a lite damage on the top of the handle. DISSTON VINTAGE WARRANTED SUPERIOR STRAIGHT BACK STRAIGHT HEEL SAW
Did some research on the Disstonian website. The medallion is the 1" dia. Federal style upward looking eagle. WARRANTED SUPERIOR" I believe the handle to be apple wood. The bolt pattern matches a picture of a#7 mfg. 1840-1928 and#8 mfg. 1845-1918. Even though the handle profile didn't match this sawhandle profile. Came across a pic of the closet matching handle profile was#7 and/or#8 28" or longer saw. From tip to heel this saw measures 27 3/4" measured at the teeth. The heel is 6" the tip is 1 1/8" The screw directly above the medallion may be a replacement as it is smaller in dia. And the heads are elevated higher than the other screws. The blade is 8TPI. The saw blade is exposed at the top of the handle, makes it pre 1928. Did not remove handle to see if anything was written on the blade. Another handle ... morethat matched this handle was the#80 choice, but the bolt pattern didn't match. Using the features of this saw, I think it may have been manufactured from 1875-1896, and using the info on the Disstonian web site. The handle does show some wear, tried to get good pics from all angles, overall looks to be in good shape, no cracks or major nics, or damage. Also tried to get good pics. of the blade, there is rusting and some minor pitting. From tip to tip overall lenght is 32" Happy to answer questions. Vintage Warranted Superior - Similar to the Disston D 16 - Straight Blade 7 TPI
Nice Warranted Superior saw that has a 26" blade that is marked 8 tpi but measures 7 tpi and is a straight skewback w/ a handle the style of the Disston D 16; it is a rip saw that cut a 2x4 fairly easily but you might want it sharper. The nuts and medallion are brass and the handle is beautiful but there is a partial crack to the inside. It is small and does not go all the way through. It feels strong. Disston D-7 Regular Pattern Straight Back Handsaw Cover top Beech wood handle with weatherproof finish stripped back. Has a true taper ground blade- 26" long. Width of blade at narrow point: 2 1/4mm. Wide point(back) of blade 7 1/4mm. Disston USA round metal logo set into handle and can just make out Disston logo to blade. The blade has 5 teeth per inch. Looks like it has been re-cut from a 6-7 teeth per inch piece. The teeth line is very straight- there are no kinks. Just needs re-sharpening and setting. All the rivets are intact and the handle is in very good condition except for two initials, HB' etched into varnish not the wood. My dad is a time-served carpenter with 45 years experience. Huge 29" henry Disston & sons miter saw back saw vintage Antique
Here is a vintage Disston back saw. From what I can find on the disston history website. This saw has the markings of an early 20th century saw. They stoped stamping the back with their name sometime in the 40's. And because of the hard angle on the but end of the cutting edge, this saw should be from around 1926-28 IM NO EXPERT SO YOU BE THE JUDGE OF THAT. THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE SAW ONLY STANLEY MITER FOR SALE IN ANOTHER AUCTION They only did that steep angle for a couple of years. The saw is in overall great shape. This antique or vintage Disston Philladelphia saw is"Farm Fresh Rusty Gold" I doubt if it would be useful as a tool, but would make a decorative collectable. It is just as it came to us, with rusty blade slightly curved at end and aged decoratively carved handle with Diston Phila medallion with what appears to be a scale in the middle. This has the wear of many decadesof use on its handle and blade. I'm not sure about the correct way to measure this, but the blade along the bottom to the handle is 21 inches, including the handle it is about 26 inches. this is a disston and sons thumb hole hand saw 28' and 5 tpi on the label side bottom end of blade there is a 5 stamped in it and when taken apart under the disston marking there is a SE in pencil inials of handle maker or assebbler? i am and auto restorer and spent at least 40 hours restoring it the apple wood handle was spriped and lots of attionion spend on not rounding the edges i used a sanding bock on all flat surfaces then clear coated 3 times and sanded with 600 and recoated 3 more seperate times and between coats then final sanding was with 800 and got its last coat of automotive clear coat poylurathane that is uv protective the blade was wet sanded with 600 then 800 it has some slight pitting in the blade and eching is great i am shure the blade could be improved with more sanding but did not want to go to far and did not over ... moretighten screws for easy removal if some one wanted to put more work in to cleaning the blade i then polised the brass and assembled it if you look at pictures of handle there is a small weather crack in the wood but you cant see it unless you are reley looking for it and i did not oil or wax the blade was not shure what to do there i hope i havent devalued the saw but i just wanted to see what a new one would have looked like when it was new and have some fun

Vintage Disston 23.25" saw. Hand painted with a floral design on one side of the 20" long steel blade. The saw has a wooden handle with a design carved on one side as well as the Disston metal label pressed into the wood. Saw is made in the USA. Saw is in good condition. The Disston round tag is readable and the handle and saw are nice and sturdy. The painting on the blade is nice and not typical for a saw blade scene! VINTAGE DISSTON COUNTRYSIDE HAND SAW~15" BLADE~10 ppi
Disston/Countryside. I don't know the model and it is a straight back saw. The medallion is DISSTON USA with the keystone. The blade is 15" long. its 1 1/2" at the toe and 5" at the heel. I count 10 tpi or ppi and is not stamped with a number at the heel. The blade is straight with some discoloration and very light/minor surface rust. There are no broken or bent teeth. What I can see of the etching on the blade is"COUNTRYSIDE" The teeth are still sharp. I do not know what type of wood the handle is but it is in perfect condition. Just a bit dirty. The handle is wheat-carved. Nice handle. All of the original finish remains in the handle. This is a good useable saw. Otherwise, it's a great display piece or gift for the tool collector, handyman or wood worker. This is a 1860's H& C Disston surgical amputation(from information found on the internet) saw Found in an old barn in Fort Washington. Pennsylvania. Barn was built in the 1700's and it was found with an old powder horn as well hanging from a nail in the roof rafters.
