Vintage 16mm Film Sound Splicer Electric Hot? Splicing Tool Professional as is!
I can mail this in one of the MEDIUM size priority mail flat rate boxes to help save on shipping costs but this is a tight fit with little room for padding(see last photo) If you want this mailed in a bigger box with more padding it will cost more to mail. I took tons of photos so be sure and scroll all the way to the bottom to see them all. Here for sale I have t his vintage electric 16mm film splicer. I found this at an estate sale and they had a couple 16mm Bell& Howell Filmsound projectrors. There and a couple reels of old high school films. I took one of the films out and placed it in this tool to make sure it fit on those pins, and it did. I also sliced off a piece and it cut no problem in my opinion. I don't have any film at home to put in it my photographs, sorry. It does not have manufacturer marking on it anywhere. Only ... morepatent numbers and a number cast into the bottom of the base and the clamp down parts. U.K. PAT No. 763435. USA PAT No. 2 925.850. The number cast into the underside of the base is 2642. The clamp down hinged parts have the numbers A-AB1 and A-AB2 cast into the metal. That is all I have to go by to figure out the manufacturer. I googled and came up empty. If you know please enlighten me. It is a heavy piece of equipment for its size. I think cast iron(the parts that are painted black) I assume the electric part of this tool is a heater. I took the cover off and photographed what's in there for you to see. It is not heating up so you will need to repair that part. I'm not positive but I may be missing a little dish or something that fits in the round hole right under the splicing mechanism and right above the heater part. Please take a close look at my photographs and decide that for yourself because I have never seen one of these before and don't know how they work. I have never spliced film with this tool. I don't know how this thing works. I don't have the instruction manual. I don't know if this tool is in correct working order. Or not. IT DOES NOT HEAT

ANTIQUE1/4 HP CENTURY ELECTRIC MOTOR ~ RUNS ~ PAT1914-15,1750 RPM,VTG LATHE TOOL
Offered is a 1/4 hp repulsion-start and induction-run electric motor made by Century Electric of St Louis. Missouri. The brass ID plate has two patent dates, in 1914 and 1915. The plate indicates that this motor will run on 110 or 220 volts, and that it runs at 1750 rpms. This is a very old motor. I don't know much more about it than what the plate indicates, nor it's exact age or application. The motor is about 12 inches in overall length and weighs about 45 pounds. It had a totally awful cord on it when I got it. I plugged it into an extension cord and then plugged that in. It ran just fine. smoothly with just a little occasional noise, as if some bit was rubbing at times. I then cut the cord off. The shaft has about 1/8 inch of endplay but does not wiggle. The shaft is served by two oils caps at each end. I just blew the loose ... morecrud off with compressed air. This motor would clean up really nice, but I will leave that project to the next owner. I cannot find any breaks or damage to the cast iron bells or base. No dents in case. The screws aren't marked up. The ID plate has a break in one corner near a rivet, but could be repaired. Little of the original black paint remains. It would not be unusual if this motor also needed some lubrication, maintenance or internal repairs. I am no expert but have read that these motors are reliable, simple, and easy to repair. Please look the pictures over closely. Winner pays for USPS Priority in the USA. Can go Standard Post if it is significantly cheaper to your location. This is a heavy item requiring extra care in packaging.
