I'm not an expert on vintage camera equipment so I am not going to make any statements as to the age of this light meter but I believe it does work. Well.the needle moves when I point it at a light. When I was a kid(in the 70's) my family use to run around gathering old cameras and equipment for my collection. Now I am putting them to good use for mission work over seas. I'm cleaning my closets. Excellent Vintage DUNCAN Electric Meter Lamp Steampunk w Shade, 3-way Switch
This is an AWESOME lamp! What a cool Christmas gift for the person who has everything! This heavy meter lamp is 22" tall. 6.5" wide and 7" deep. The Duncan Single Phase Watthour Meter was made by Duncan Electric Mfg. Co. in Lafayette, Indiana. The meter dial spins when the light is on, just like the meter on the side of your house! The shade is 8.5" tall and does have some marks on one side, but no holes, tears or odors. The wood base is very sturdy. It has a new 8' cord and apparently uses a 3-way bulb, but a regular bulb works, too. The brass colored housing does show some signs of wear but just enough to add to its charm. Vintage watt hour meter steampunk electric table lamp works industrial light
Vintage watt hour electric meter turned into a table lamp. The light works and it has all of the parts. But it is missing the glass cover on the front. Has a very long cord, over 6' long. It appears to have been turned into a lamp a long time ago by the type of old style cord that it has. The wood base is 7" across and 7" deep and the lamp is 12" tall to the top of the socket. The base where the glass fits is 6" across and needs to be at least 3 1/2" deep. Most standard size glass should fit or just use it without the glass for that industrial look. This is a small lot of 3 Weston Electric meters. I have no way of testing these meter but they do appear to be in good condition with no dents. Dings, chips, cracks, or rust, but there are some scuffs and scratches from use. The smallest meter marked U.S.N. TYPE CV-22427 ZERO POWER LEVEL 6 MW. 600 OHMS. MODEL 506 has a diameter of 2 11/16" across the face. The other gauge marked MILLIAMPERES D.C. MODEL 616 no. 2897 measures 3 1/4" across the face. The last gauge is marked WESTON VOLTMETER MODEL 301 NO. 319095 and measures 3 1/4" across the face. These would also work great for an industrial or steam punk style art project. Up for auction is a very nice vintage steam punk electric meter retirement lamp.When you turn the light on there is a disk that rotates around but the gauges don't rotate along with it.I am guessing something inside is loose and needs tightening.The lamp is in great condition and the wood looks like black walnut.It measures about 21 1/2" tall to the top of the finial x 9 1/2" wide at the base.

The IONA has a lesser known history. It has been seen in several movies and TV shows such as Ghostbusters, Condor Knight Rider and others. The PKE Meter was first built as a prop from the shell of an IONA Shoe Polisher, to be used in Ghostbusters. The IONA came in different colors and the PKE was made from a green one.
