Lightmeter Model DW68 made by General Electric from the late 1940’s to late 1950’s. Prior to WW-II. This lightmeter used a non-standard film sensitivity scale- the version offered here has the standard ASA/ ISO scale, common from 1946. The original price of these lightmeters was US$26.95- that was a lot of money in the 1940’s! The General Electric DW68 is a Selenium Cell type meter. Not dependent on batteries, very small- 100mm x 60mm x 30mm(4” x 2 ¼” x 1 ¼” for the metrically challenged) It is extremely well built, with aluminium upper and Bakelite lower body and is perfect for the camera bag when that big auto-everything camera runs out of battery power! This auction is for a vintage used Farm Fresh General Electric Single-Phase Watthour Power Meter in a old wooden box painted a silver color. There are 2 old fuses mounted one on each side just above the meter and wired with old wire. I originally got this to make a Steampunk Lamp for my Man Cave. But never got it started and lost interest in it. I have seen these made into a lamp and the power wires are hooked to the meter and the dials turn as power is used. This a heavy item. The gentleman whose Estate this item came from was an antique camera collector and photography buff who over the years had amassed a very large collection of related items! This Exposure Meter is in excellant condition and is fully functional. It comes in its original box. Set into its personal indentation cut in the bottom of the cardboard box. Resting underneath the Meter and attached to its bottom is its original, long black nylon? cord. There is not a leather carrying case with this Meter and I am not aware if one originally came with it in this box set. This light meter was made by General Electric in the 1950's. It's a PR-1 type of meter and has a serial number of#L57990. It comes with a brown leather carrying case which zippers to secure the meter safely. The meter does work properly when pointed toward light and depressing the button. The measurement wheel spins and moves freely. As it is supposed to. Overall, the piece is in good working order, with minimal amounts of wear. The glass lens aperture on the front of the meter is clean and clear. The leather case is worn and there is one section of the zipper which has come loose from is fabric fastener. 2 vintage Made in Japan Multimeter tester Lafayette Micronta Volt electric meter
No longer have the leads. The larger one was made in Japan by Layfayette. It makes a rattling sound when shook, probably a small screw, but still tests voltage ok. The smaller one is made in Korea by Micronta, probably a radio shack exclusive.
