Vintage mid-50's duncan yoyo plus yoyo and top.
About 10 years ago. My wife and I wandered into a nearby old farm house in upstate NY that was scheduled to be demolished the next day, along with the two barns. We thought we might save a few things before they were destroyed. In an upstairs bedroom, we found a room and closet that must have been a kid's room, and there were vintage toys scattered all about. The house had been uninhabited for over 50 years. I was able to date many of the toys, and there was nothing newer than about 1955. This is just one of a series of collections I'm selling right now from this lovely time capsule. Included is a Duncan super tournament yoy. A generic yoyo, and a top with a missing spindle. Vintage Duncan Medieval Chess Set Fancy Paint Job
Vintage Duncan Medieval Chess Set with a fancy paint job comes in two boxes. With extra wrapping and padding, free shipping and will be insured. The Kings are 8" Queens are 7" Castles are 6 1/4" Bishops are 7" Horses are 6 1/2" and Pawns are 6" This is a complete set and I do NOT have a board. The diameter of the larger pieces is 2 1/2" across and the Pawns are 2 1/4" at the bases. Each has a felt like piece on the bottom. I found one Pawn, one Bishop and one Queen with a small chip. Unfortunately the Queen's was to her nose, it's more on the underside though. There are some places where the paint did not adhere so there may be a few with a small open spot. We are talking like 1/16" They aren't perfectly painted but they are all pretty uniform and look very nice, somebody did spend ... moresome time painting these. I see no cracking in any. They have been sitting around for years and weren't really used. Please read everything. It's important. Then you know exactly what you're bidding on and what my policies are. The molds pours 1 Mice in a Nut shell that measures about 2" x 2.5" and 1 Snowman about 3" tall x 1.5" wide. The over all dimensions of the molds are approximately 3.5" x 2.5" x 2" The Snowman mold is clean and appear to have been used moderately. This is a nice Duncan Miller Egg Plate in the Sandwich pattern. It is considered the Pink/ Rose color. There is a crack in the glass but cannot be felt on the plate inside or out it is inside the glass area not through and through as seen in pictures 3 and 4. Also there is a chip on one edge as seen in picture 5. Have to really look to find it. Overall this plate is in very good condition. It is 12 inches in diameter. This is a heavy plate. Vintage Duncan & Miller Duck/Cattail pattern cigarette box (nut dish) & ashtrays
During the 1940's-60's people often had ashtrays with a cigarette holding box in their living rooms or recreation rooms. This rare 3 piece set of two small personal ashtrays measuring 3 5/8" by 2 1/8" and a larger dish(box) measuring 4 1/8" by 3 3/4" with a dual mallard etching) are in near mint condition. Any light marks on the pictures are from the leather piece put under it to see the etchings clearly. Today people do not usually have a cigarette box out but this is the perfect size for candies or nuts. These are nice vintage art collectibles by a company that was founded in 1865 and made their last pieces in 1955. The company was taken over by US Glass Company who produced some of their designs until 1980 but this type of set would not have been made in the era of the 80's; definitely mid-century. The cigarette ... morebox measures 3.5" long by 2.75" wide by 1.75" high. The ashtray is 2.75" square. Although sold as a cigarette box and ashtray. These pieces could also be used on a dresser or nightstand to hold jewelry or other small treasures.

Vintage Duncan& Miller 3 Part Relish First Love Etch. Teardrop Blank, 1930-1950s The relish dish/bowl was produced by the Duncan and Miller Glass Company. The etch pattern is"First Love" and the blank(shape) is"Teardrop" Duncan& Miller referred to this dish as a"12-inch Celery and Relish" The"First Love" etch pattern was designed to compliment the Rogers silver pattern of the same name. The Duncan& Miller"First Love" line was sold in jewelry stores and better department stores. The dish is in very good vintage condition. The glass is clear and glossy and the etch is crisp. It has a small flake on its outside center near the rim. The flake isn't very apparent. Because it blends in with the etch pattern and the indentation pattern along the rim. VINTAGE DUNCAN PARKING METER #184 1 HOUR Dime 30 MINUTES Nickle on Stand
Very nice shape old Duncan parking meter on a pipe and cedar wood stand. I think it is from the 1950's. The way the meter works is to put in a nickel and the red Violation flag goes down and the black meter lever will display the time. The nickels show up in the little round glass displays in the middle of the meter. The bottom of the meter has a lift out section to retrieve the coins from the coin box. The lever for this locked section has been removed so you can access the coins. These meters were removed from service because of cosmetics or some other mechanical problems. This meter is working. The spring was initially wound some and a nickel put into the meter and the time read 30 minutes. The minutes ticked away until the violation flag went back up. Duncan Miller 17.125" large pressed glass underplate, vintage
This is very large pressed clear glass underplate made by duncan Miller in the Plaza pattern. It measures 17.125" across. It sits on a slightly raised 5.625" diameter foot and has a 3/4" lip. It is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips or damage of any kind. I do see 2 tiny air bubbles and a couple of straw marks consistent with the manufacturing process. this large round platter has a scalloped edge and weighs about 8 pounds. Because of it's size it will require double boxing for safest shipping.
