Vintage 1985 UEI(Universal Enterprises) 4-function digital volt-ohm meter with case. Model# DM25. If you're looking at this, you're probably familiar with UEI quality. I purchased this volt-ohm meter for $80 back in 1985; that's $175 in today's dollars! It was expensive, but well worth it. It was used a few times for basic homeowner needs. It has worked flawlessly for almost 30 years and surely has another 30 in it. Why? because it was made with quality components before the global downturn and bean-counters found a way to cheapen everything! The case is vinyl covered cardboard and after a decade or so began to split out. I put some box tape over it to contain it. The snap is also broken on the case. I just put a rubber band around it. So I don’t know too much about this piece or if it works. I don’t have the proper tools or know-how to test it so I am auctioning it strictly AS-IS. Vintage 1930s Jewell Amperes gauge meter electrical Chicago steampunk HUGE
This HUGE vintage Amperes Gauge made by the Jewell Electrical Instrument Co. of Chicago came out of a coal-fired power plant built in the 1930s. And I was told this gauge was original to the plant. It is in in excellent condition with some light tarnish. Some of the black paint on the brass Jewell nameplate has worn off as you can see in the photos. I included a 12 oz. beer can to give you an idea of the gauge's size. It weighs nearly 8 pounds. Its face measures about 6-3/4" in diameter, its back plate measures about 7-1/2" diameter, and it measures about 7-1/2" from front to back including the threaded copper posts. The arrow indicator still moves freely- it would still probably work yet today. I have a good many electrical-equipment nameplates from this same power plant listed for sale. A Polaris is a navigational instrument to measure in degrees the relative compass bearing of landmarks. The Sun Compass is also a navigational instrument to measure the compass deviation. Both were vital instruments in determining your position at sea. Now of course they are obsolete because of the GPS system, but still a“must have” for the serious maritime collector. I think it's more numbers. The meters say Volts AC Rectifier Type Model 506, the one on the right is model 517. It has 2 cords on the side, one has a 2- pronged plug and the other cord is 2 bare wires. Up for bid is a vintage table top Arcade Love Meter. It measures 17" tall. 10 7/8" deep and 9 3/4" wide. It will need some work. I plugged it in and it lights up and sometimes it beeps. Not sure what is wrong. Looks like there might be a piece missing where the finger goes in. There is no box for the quarters, they just slide into the bottom. This bag is in great shape for something over fifty years old. Some civil defense meters(like the CDV-717) have detachable ion chambers. I believe that this bag was manufactured to be used to enclose the detached ion chamber so it would not get contaminated when places outside of a vehicle or a fallout shelter.
