SDT 915 Ratchet-Driven Pipe Roll Groover works with Ridgid 300
You are considering a Portable Ratchet-Driven Roll Groover designed to be used with Ridgid 300 or similar drives. We believe this groover is a SDT model 915. But it does not have a nameplate or any other markings to identify it by. The only sticker on it is on the front and says PT Piping Tools. It looks identical to the other SDT 915's seen on e-bay. This groover does not appear to have been used much at all. There is very little visible wear on the grooving dies. The body has light scratches. Scuffs etc from use and handling. We do not have a Ridgid 300 powerdrive or similar machine to test this groover with. It is being sold"AS IS UNTESTED" The groover comes with two knurled drive shafts. The loose one is slightly smaller diameter than the one installed in the groover. The groover will require a 1/2" square drive ratchet ... morefor raising/ lowering the grooving roll. We did not receive a ratchet with this machine, but any 1/2" drive ratchet should work. We are not sure of the actual pipe capacity this groover will do. You are considering a Victaulic"Vic-Easy" Roll Grooving Tool. We have listed this Groover's condition as"For Parts or Not Working" because the hydraulic hand pump with this unit will not hold pressure. The pump will need to be replaced or possibly repaired. We contacted Victaulic with the Groover's model and serial number and they said that the 4" pump on this unit is no longer serviced by them. They have been using a smaller 2-1/2" pump on their newer model groovers and parts are no longer available for the 4" pumps. However. A hydraulic repair shop or someone with good working knowledge of these type pumps may be able to rebuild it. We have tested the ram on the groover with a hand pump from a bender we have and the ram operates fine with no leaks. Also. The drive shaft and bearings in the grooving ... moredies turn fine. This groover should be in working condition other than the hydraulic hand pump mentioned above. It is also missing the front support stand, but this should be a simple fix with some 2" pipe. Grinnell Gruvlok Model 1023 Roll Groover 1-1/4" - 12" Pipe Ridgid Victaulic 110V
You are considering a Grinnell Corp. Gruvlok" Roll Groover Machine. This machine is used, but appears to be in good overall condition. Overall the machine shows normal wear, scratches, etc. from normal use. The only issues we have found while testing the machine are: 1. There's a very slight hydraulic leak at one of the joints in the hose. It only leaks under pressure and is very minimal. We have tried tightening the fittings, but it still leaks. 2. The footswitch is a bit temperamental. It works, but sometimes you have to step on it more than once to make it engage. We have taken it apart, rewired it and adjusted the strike plate that pushes the switch. This helped some, but it's still not 100% Otherwise, the machine seems to work fine. UP FOR AUCTION IS A TYLER HYDRAULIC ROLL GROOVER G-B MODEL RG-41 FOR 1"6" PIPE. I DONT KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT THIS EXCEPT THAT IT LOOKS LIKE ITS IN GREAT CONDITION AND ITS VERY HEAVY. USED TO ROLL GROOVE PIPING UP TO 6" ACCORDING TO THE LABEL. LOOKS LIKE THE LOWER HALF HAS BEEN REPAINTED BUT THE MAIN GROOVER IS THE BARE METAL HOW IT CAME FROM FACTORY WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL LABELS. IT LOOKS COMPLETE TO ME AND LOOKS LIKE EVERYTHING SHOULD WORK BUT I DONT HAVE HYDRAULIC FLUID OR A POWERHEAD TO VERIFY SO IT IS BEING SOLD AS-IS.
