Excel ES801 tonearm. Excellent and original condition complete with original headshell. Arm rest, and signal cable. This is one of my favourite Japanese S arms. Being more toward the high mass end of the spectrum I find it particularly suited for use with Stantons Pickerings and the like. A very'friendly' sounding combination, ie, one that can make even the crudest of old records sound pretty good. Great for listening to old 45s, worn or scuffed records and even noteably inferior pressings, and surprisingly good at tracking warped vinyl. I have had a lot of experience with this arm. Certainly enough to pitch it correctly. I would not recommend it for a high resolution system with an expensive cartride, rather just the opposite. It is a decent all rounder, easily outperforms the Grace arms in my opinion, but it really shines on those ... morerougher records, without revealing all the snap crackle and pop and running the risk of damaging your expensive moving coil cartridge. A worthwhile investment for a high end system if you run a second turntable. Or use multiple tonearms.
