REFERENCE PLATE 90 IN MONUMENTAL MINIATURES. This is one of the half dozen or so finest souvenir buildings ever produced. Cast in lead and capturing faithfully all of the amazing detail in this spectacular office building. This is a vintage piece from 1930 or so and it is in undamaged conditon. BUT NOTE THAT IT HAS BEEN BLACK. My assumption is that this is an overpaint by a previous owner but I have seen five or six of these painted black, so it could have been done much longer ago or by the shop. Very nice souvenir desk piece from Lebanon with a miniature replica of the ancient Temple of Jupiter in Baalbek. Baalbek in the Beqaa Valley contains some of the best preserved Roman ruins in Lebanon. This souvenir desk piece consists of a 6" by 4" wooden base with a brass plate on top inscribed"LIBAN" French for Lebanon. The 2.5" tall miniature replica of the Baalbek temple is made of a gold finished metal and is mounted to the back right. The left side has a metal replica of a Lebanese Cedar tree with pen holder below it. And the top of the base has a red and white metal map of Lebanon with a Cedar tree in the middle. This small metal plates is about the size of an iPhone 4. We believe it dates back to the early part of the mid 20th century. 1931- 45? The Sarco company made a variety of devices that deal with Steam. Steam Traps, and Steam regulation. We only have this metal plate. What device it came off you may be able to determine for yourself once you look up the various type/model numbers. This plate can be repurposed into a lamp. A personal phone case, or whatever. This is a red and yellow metal building from the erector set. It is approx 3" tall and 2" wide. The roof is red. The building has 3 windows on each side and on the ends it has 1 window and 1 door. Some of the tabs on the building to stabilize the roof have broken off. You cann see that the metal has several bend in it. I think was from storage. If you bend them slowly they will straighten out. Some the paint in missing aslo. The word erector is on 2 side. Condition is well played with- good for the age.

There is a bulb under the base. But after so many years I imagine it will have to be replaced. REFERENCE PLATE 1176 IN MONUMENTAL MINIATURES. A few years ago. I drove right past this real building in Syracuse(just off the interstate) and it looks just like this replica only a lot bigger. This is the real deal- not the much later and much more common Banthrico pot metal bank, but the 1930's lead cast replica made by the esteemed A. C. Rehberger firm. It was once finished in a silver wash and there are traces of it still, but mostly it is down to gray. Superbly detailed piece, it is 4.75 inches tall. Base is 4 by 2.5 inches. Retains its locking coin trap but no key. Trap door is corroded- could clean up with patience. Been peddling on Ebay for over a decade and this is the first of these I have offered. One look at this Chrysler building and you would swear you had the Danbury Mint one that go's for over $250.00 usually.
