A simple to learn, simple to operate and fairly simple to download and process good quality results. The results being a complex of point to point vectors between occupied points. The basic principal of this GPS surveying system is that the bearing and distance between three or more points can be precisely calculated by simultaneously recording measurements using three Locus receiver units. One over each point. Often two of the receivers are located over two separate“known” points and the third receiver is moved about on a survey pole as a“rover” unit on new points to be acquired. The office“Locus processor software”is installed in your PC and then the receivers are individually downloaded through an infrared to nine pin connector into your PC. A graphic“network” of your survey vector results can then be printed out. Along with a report of relative accuracy achieved in the field. This system was purchased and operated by a Professional Land Surveyor in about the year 2000. The system was used for land surveying until it was replaced by a Trimble“real time” survey grade GPS system. The original cost of this three receiver system.
