Up for auction and fresh out of an old estate comes this Wonderful Antique Bausch& Lomb Surveyors Transit level in original box with accessories and comes with a Expanding wood& Metal Tripod stand. The Level looks to be in excellent condition with no damage other then some normal wear and needs a good cleaning. I've looked thru the Scope and it works and focuses and the level is still intact with fluid and works. Its marked(see photo) and its heavy! There are extra pieces that come in the fitted box and they are a triangular footed base that screws on. A brass weight with string, a folding magnifying glass, some metal tool piece and(2) metal looking rods? Each piece I mentioned has it own fitted spot in the box where it fits in. The box its self is in excellent condition as well and has 3 locks and I have both keys to lock these ... morelocks. Now the Tripod base that came with this piece is original army green color paint and its wood and metal. There are round metal rods that slide out to heighten the tripod and slide back in to make it compact in size(see photo) Its in excellent condition as well with no damage an just some lite wear to the green paint and that's it! This auction is for a very nice Antique Bostrom Farm Transit No. 2 that has a built in level. Level contains fluid and works and the brass plumb bob is scratched. But in good condition. Transit has brass tubes and fittings and show a little natural wear and the site lens is clear and easy to see through. The numbers on the dial and transit itself show some slight rust, but you can still read the numbers. Dovetail wood box is solid and clasps and hinges and hook and eye are in good working order. Up for auction is an extremely nice Sears Craftsman Farm Level/ Tranist-Level. It is 11 1/8" in length and has a tin label on one side that reads CRAFTSMAN REG. TRADE MARK MADE IN U.S.A. IS 45313(serial number) The transit-level is in excellent. Like-new condition! It also works just fine. It comes in a wood dove-tailed protective box that has approximate measurements of 13" X 6" X 7" Inside the box are: an instruction manual, catalog of Craftsman surveying instruments, original registration card, original manufacturing inspection card, parts list, how to adjust the bubbles instructions, plumb bob and string, a small 5 3/4" hand level, a 5 1/4" pocket-clip level, and a black 2" on one side cone-shaped item for which I do not know the use. All of these pieces are in"like new" condition. Looking ... moreat all of the pieces involved, the only flaw that I can find is that the box lid sits up slightly on the right side when closed(last picture) I am trying to tighten this up but can not promise that it will be completed. Frederick Post Company antique? Level ? Transit ? A. Lietz Co. Box. Steampunk ?
This Is a Frederick Post Company and or a A. Lietz Company land level. This level looks to be all brass and it weighs almost 10 pounds without the box. I am not an antique person but I like this patina. The only thing I see that does not look correct is the lens cap on the large lens. I do not think it is the original cap. It fits good but it does not look right. The level is about 17 3/8" long with the lenses and it extends to about 20" The level has Frederick Post Co. engraved in it but the box has a A. Lietz tag in it. There are two other tags in the box that look like tags put in after some repairs. One of the repairs was done in november of 1949. I just noticed that the box has been carved on in some spots to get this level to fit in it. That makes me think that it was made by the Frederick Post Co. I tried to research this ... morelevel but all I came up with is that the Frederick Post Co. is known better as a slide rule company. I wish I knew when this level and box were made but I do not. The box is not in very good shape but due to it's age and nice patina I am sure that it has some value with or without the level. If you need to know more or you need more pics please let me know. HILGER & WATTS Theodolite Level England Survey Transit
Please look at the pictures and ask any questions since I am not an expert on this s piece of equipment. I think this is a theodolite level. It is made by Hilger and watts in England. It says st136 with 155143 under it. Maybe a serial number? It also has a sticker saying Penna forest dept. it fits nicely in its case and looks to be good shape. I only see some chipping on the plastic around the eye piece. Ask any questions you might have and I will try to answer them.

Up for auction is this Vintage Wild Heerbrugg N3 Survey Level with Original Case. I do not know very much at all about these instruments but will try my best to describe the instrument. This level looks to be in Good condition. I looked through the eyepiece and it is clear to look through. The level does appear to have the 2 knobs on the side of the level missing. You can still turn the piece and it moves the lens up and down as it should. The level is mounted on its original trivet and moves freely back and forth. The level has the normal signs of use with minor surface scratches. The level comes in its original metal carrying case with leather handle. The level was made in Switzerland. Vintage. Old, Berger, transit, surveying tool, level, instrument, with wooden box. This item shows overall wear including discoloration found. Some cloudiness in the lens but you can still see through it, and scratches found. This item comes with its original manuals but they are in poor condition; most of the pages are difficult to open and they look to have been wet at one time. The box shows overall wear including dirtiness found throughout and the Berger label is beginning to peel up. The transit itself measures approximately 11.25” x 5.5” x 4.5” at its largest dimensions.
