VINTAGE KE-1a KEUFFEL & ESSER THEODOLITE TRANSIT LEVEL SURVEYOR WITH HARD CASE
I set up on known points and tested. The horizontal worked great. Swing was exactly on point. The vertical was not tested as I do not any reference points or the knowledge to test the vertical. The vertical indicator moves as it should with degree scale operating. It all seems fine swivels and looks as if has had very little use. I will include a 14 day warranty item for defects. Here is a copy of the operation manual and optional items available for it. The electrical connection seen in pictures is for a optional light kit. There are pictures showing the degree indicator and the optical sight. This item is 17 lbs before packaging will be 20 + lbs shipping.

Huge, beautiful well made old four foot screw American Dietzgen 6000 Vernier Compass Theodolite serial number 51912 from my collection. The telescope image on this theodolite is upright with superb clean and clear optics giving around 24X magnification. This instrument from the 1930’s appears to have been used very little or kept in storage as the paintwork is in pristine condition. It is really very rare to find an instrument with paintwork like this. With nice clean tangent screws. This theodolite looks like new. The carrying case is even in good condition with most of its tools! This Big Daddy not only looks beautiful, but is also in perfect working order and has been Collimated(Calibrated) This instrument is huge, around 15 inches ... moretall and very heavy weighing 13 kgs in its box. These old theodolites look really well on display in an Engineers or Architects office with the large compass in the centre. The theodolite also comes with its wooden box for transportation and most of its tools. As an Instrument Technician previously working for Wild Heerbrugg and trained at their factory in Switzerland all my instruments are thoroughly checked before being put up for auction. Some lived as far away as Canada and New Zealand but'definitely needed' to attend. However, now everyone has had their’bit’ and the'bun' fight has finished and the squabbles have subsided, the clearance has ... morestarted proper. The landlord had unwittingly’collected’ many items during his twenty eight years in the establishment. The vast majority of these items having been pledged with him for the price of a couple of pints by locals who found themselves temporarily short of funds. Many of these items were never redeemed. EARLY 57 INCH OAK BUFF & BUFF TRANSIT STAND THEODOLITE TRIPOD
Up for bid is a great antique oak Buff& Buff survey transit tripod. I believe the collar on the top will fit all transits made by Buff. I tried it on two of mine and it worked on both. The stand measures approximately 57 inches total from the metal tipped feet on the bottom to the bracket on the top. The transit is embossed BUFF at the top. The collar on the top has a diameter of approximately 3 inches. Overall the tripod is in good condition. It shows use and age. The finish on the wood shows moderate surface wear from age. The wood also shows small nicks and chips throughout the legs. The legs of the transit are a fixed length and do not have the ability to have their height adjusted. The metal tipped feet on the bottom show moderate surface rust but are still solid.
