All motions and locks work as they should. Crystal clear optics and cross hairs. Comes with the orange bullet case. Couple of small dents and field wear on the case. Sun shade is present and perfect condition. Has one EDM mount and what I assume to be the compass mount on the other side. Compass is missing. Direct read angles to the tenth minute(6" see third picture taken with phone through the vernier. The reflecting mirror(for light to the vernier) is cracked but still functions as intended.

Kern Swiss K1-A Theodolite with Case & Monopod
Kern model K1-A Theodolite. There are some water spots on the front glass element(shown in photo) I did take a photo looking through the eyepiece with a cell phone(showing power lines and distant mountain) The water spots do not seem to adversely effect image quality. Another photo shows the mountain which can be seen in the photo taken through the eyepiece to illustrate zoom scale. I really do not know how this piece of equipment works. But i t appears to be in good working order. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like me to test anything. I work at an engineering firm. And we have had this unit in storage for a long time. Comes inside of a metal case with leather carrying strap and metal latches. The metal case fits inside of the padded transport case. Antique Russian Theodolite 2T30 20x Magnification w/Compass In Metal Bullet case
Russian Theodolite: CCCP" 2T30. Magnification 20x. Metal case and magnetic compass is included. Weight is about 4.5 kg/7 lbs. The horizontal(graduated in degrees) And vertical circles(non-zenith angles) work correctly and motion screws functions as intended. The level vials may need to be adjusted/calibrated for professional level use, but they work and are not broke. Optics seem fine, but recommend professional cleaning, as there is some dust on one of the lenses. We used this for bird watching because of the 20x magnification to see the far away birds close up. Even with the dust on lens we could clearly see and identify our different wild birds. Was easy to set up and lock on target, easy to turn or move to new location or view very quickly. It has a 3rd scope(has plus sign in middle of view) to quickly and easily find and lock the ... morenew view in just seconds with a little practice. There is a magnetic compass attachment that is detachable, which has it's own home inside the case. The transit also has a little mirror on side you open to reflect light inside to read the vertical& horizontal numbers. I do not know the order of accuracy of this instrument, as it requires calibration to be certain of that. Again, I try to be as honest and accurate as possible in my descriptions and offer a 14 day money back guarantee, buyer pays return S&H. It has stadia lines in the optics which can be used to roughly measure distance when use in conjunction with a standard surveyors rod marked in 10ths of a foot. I used this unit my self for several years to layout construction projects and find property lines. This listing is for a 1918 fine English theodolite transit made by Watts.The transit has a very long 14 inch or 35 cm telescope and measures about 10 inches high at 25 cm. The diameter of the round base measures 6 1/2 inches or 16.5 cm. The instrument is stamped"DIRECTOR NO5 MK1 LB WATTS& SON1918 No 4997" on the front of the base. It is also stamped on the side with a broad arrow point ... moreindicating this transit was made for military use. The instrument is all brass. The telescope has both course and fine adjustments. Above the telescope are two hinged sights. On one side of the of the telescope is a spirit level housed under a mirrored cover. There is also on the same side a spirit level on the quarter arc vernier gage. The base has a 360 degree vernier gage a compass and two more spirit levels. There are many adjustment knobs. Locks etc. All this sits on an adjustable triangular base with leveling feet. This base can be taken off so the theodolite can be mounted on a tripod. The level tubes with bubbles are there. Vintage THEODOLITE By Cooke Troughton& Simms Ltd York This Theodolite is Serial No. VO13868 Age unknown but presumed to be mid 20th Century The theodolite is made mainly of brass finished in grey enamel. The scales are silvered and the adjustment knobs are plated. All contained in a fitted Mahogany case. Also in the case is a lens hood. Brush, oil bottle, spanner& plumbob. Provided but not shown is a lens cap and leather strap, there are a few small holes for equiment not present. The optics are a bit hazy. The levels, mirrors and scales are in good condition and the mechanics all function smoothly. The theodolite paintwork has a few small bits rubbed or chipped. The circular plate on the rear of the vertical scale appears to be plastic and has deteriorated slightly although it is intact. The case. Very Nice Antique Boxed Theodolite, Made by E R Watts, Sold by J Halden
This is an interesting example of an early 20th century theodolite in its original fitted case. It has what amounts to a full service history on the labels inside the lid which show that it was supplied by the J Halden Company of Manchester to the architects. C J MItchell of Godalming, then repaired and/or adjusted by the original makers in 1939 and again in 1956. It is well marked as shown and in very good condition with clear optics and only minor loss of paint finish and general signs of use. It has its level adjusting tripod mount and glass spirit level and the fitted case is also in very good condition complete with key although the leather carrying strap has broken and been mostly removed. The box measures 11.5 x 6.25 x 4.25 inches overall. This is a heavy item weighing about 3kg packed so we have only quoted UK parcel delivery. It is extremely compact measuring only 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" 9cmx14cm) in it's metal case. The instrument itself is complete and in very good working conditon. With excellent optics, which provide incredibly bright and crisp imaging. Coarse focusing is achieved by turning a thumb wheel on the side, while the fine focus is controlled by turning the eyepiece lens. Both focusing controls are in perfect working order and lenses are in good condition, with no major scratches; certainly no chips or cracks. Instrument positioning is controlled by thumb wheels. The instrument measures as shown about 6 1/2 inches high. This can be reduced to less then 5 inches high if you unscrew the base. When the telescope is fully retracted it measures 5 inches long. The telescope can extend to 6 3/4 inches. Above the telescope is a spirit level and vernier gage along with an attached magnifier. One of two on the instrument, for help in reading the scale. Vintage Tavistock Theodolite, Cooke Troughton & Simms
For auction. Vintage Tavistock Theodolite, or sometimes called Transit or sometimes searched under Cooke Troughton& Simms. No Box. I don’t know the exact manufacture date, but from what I’ve read on the internet this Tavistock was introduced in 1937 and it was a huge technological advancement in surveying with its design. Other manufactures copied the design and improved upon it. FREE SHIPPING, with insurance and tracking within the 48 states. No international sales, local pickup avaliable. I can hand deilver if your close to my area. This Tavistock is used, and has some paint chips, however the scope and bubbles are intact and working, cross hairs are intact, no broken glass anywhere. The unique viewing scopes for reading the verniers are also intact. All the mirrors for reflecting the light thru the unique glass verniers are also working ... moreand will reflect the light as it should. Measuerments are 11” tall, scope is 7-3/4” long. All adjustment dials work like they should. I tried to take pictures of the verniers thru the viewing scopes, but its hard to do. I’ve acquired an original Tavistock booklet for this theodolite showing the use and specs. and how to read the glass verniers which is included. This will also include a couple of other booklets showing the use of this theodolite and another booklet of Cooke Troughton& Simms called the Optical Micrometer Theodolite No III. I will be on vacation for a few weeks in April, so if this ends while I'm gone, shipping will be delayed. Absolutely. Gorgeous Wild T2 Theodolite with tripod stand. However, the Tribrach is damaged and snapped off the corner. Also, the case is missing. The part is easily fixed. But, I'm upgrading to GPS and need the cash quick. I really hate to get rid of it as I've had it for sometime and never planned on selling it. All of the optical devices are in perfect condition. The instrument shows little slightly worn. As it add's character if you were to ask me. The SN# 28544 makes me believe it was produced in one of those two years 50 or 51. From the research I've done. SOKKISHA ( SOKKIA ) THEODOLITE MODEL TM20C WITH TRIBRACH IN MANUFACTURER'S CASE
I know nothing about surveying equipment apart from having watched surveyors at work. This is a Sokkisha Theodolite Model TM20C in the original case. It is complete with the tribach. The mount that the theodolite rests on and the tripod is mounted to the bottom of this mount. The controls all seem to be smooth but this instrument is rather grubby in places and would benefit from a clean. There is a battery powered light which clips onto the side and illuminates the interior through a porthole which is usually covered by a mirrored cap. This torch has some signs of corrosion and is very dirty on the outside, I could not get it to work but I do not know if there is a switch override. The theodolite is complete with the plumb line which allows is to be centered perfectly. Please be aware that this is a very heavy item, over 8 kilos and shipping ... morewill be expensive to ship outside the UK. Because of the weight of this it will have to be sent by courier.
