Any white spots or shading on statue is a reflection from lighting. Has a place on one leg that may have been repaired at the foundry when making as it is a bit rougher. The patina is intact around it so it is definitely something that was done in the making. Really minor though. Unmarked as to maker or foundry. Really a wonderful antique bronze greyhound figure. Vintage items are a piece of history and always in style. Offering styles and construction that cannot be duplicated today. We are pleased to offer this vintage(1990s) Maitland Smith. Greyhound/Whippet coffee/accent or end table. THIS RARE DESIGN, AND HARD TO FIND, 4 DOG TABLE features 4 large and extremely detailed bronzed, hollow cast, dogs seated regally upon an interesting, brilliant brass base. The dogs are finished in black which provides an excellent contrast with the brilliant base. This design is generally found in its smaller, 3 dog, companion version. The table is in very good condition with some expected"age spots" on the brass base. I have not tried to polish them as I like the aged character they add to this piece. The listing is for one table, but I do have an identical table available if you are looking for a pair. The pictured glass top is not included as you can purchase a new piece of glass this size for about the same amount of money ... moreit would cost to ship one to you. The table is extremely heavy and is structurally perfect. STUNNING AND VERY HARD TO FIND! The table measures 28" long. It is 15.75" deep(front to back) and 15" tall. Wow! Terraplane. Auburn, Bantam, Graham. Durant and Erskine. Hupmobile, Kissel, Stearns Knight and Jordan. This 1940 vintage Atlas anti-freeze chart lists them all and includes a page devoted to trucks, buses and tractors as well, with such names as Hug, Esco, Duplex and Federal trucks. Fageol and Indiana buses and Oliver and Cleveland tractors. All the other names that are still around today are here also, of course. Very interesting piece. You can see from the ending model years, how many of the old automobile manufacturers went out of business in the depth(32-34) of the Great Depression. It does have some condition issues, but it would be difficult to find a nicer one. It is literally a little rough around the edges, some surface wear, light scratching, some light surface rust, paint loss. By owners of the whaling bark Florence. The ship sailed for the Indian ocean Sept. 1852 returning June 1855 from the port of Warren Rhode Island. In pear shape. With beautifully hand chased rippling leaf cascading from rim. Scallop edge rim and conforming edge of cover. Topped with boldly fashioned reclining whippet finial. The gracefully proportioned dog.
