One of 53 total prints in the series, which were then pasted into a special album with text. Published in 1960, this print is GUARANTEED to be 53+ years old and original. Each one of these prints was distributed in the Sunday News Paper, one per week for a year plus an extra card of a mixed breed called"Struppi" and meant to be collected and pasted into the album. The size of the card is 7.5" high x 5.2" wide(19 cm x 13 cm) NOTE! On this print you will find a damage plus a small piece of tape in upper right corner on the backside. Rare Nymphenburg Porcelain Whippet / Greyhound Figurine Porzellan Figur Figure
For sale is a great figurine of a whippet or greyhound made by Nymphenburg in the early to mid 20th century. You see the single dogs from time to time but this piece is quite hard to find! It is of a mother dog with is young perhaps and superbly modeled likely after P.J. Pierre Jules) Mene. A very well modeled figurine and in perfect condition which always adds to a piece like this. The piece is 5.25 inches tall. 3.75 inches wide and 6.75 inches long. It is marked with the impressed shield mark on the front side of the base as wel as underneath with the model number 760 over 8 impressed. There is also the green shield mark under a crown with the word Nymphenburg underneath that. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like KPM. Offered for auction is a gorgeous and unique antique silver napkin ring. The napkin ring dates to the Victorian era of the late 1800’s. The napkin ring is not marked as sterling or silver plate. Years ago. I found one other napkin ring like this one on the internet and it was listed as sterling. The figural napkin ring features a slim dog, either greyhound or whippet. The ring is a 6 sided hexagon shape. The ring has a beaded edge design and there are NO monograms. It is in very good condition. There are no dings, dents or bends. Charming Victorian Porcelain Greyhound Whippet Dog On Pin Dish Signed Perfect
Height: 8 cms Diameter: 12 cms This delightful little dish is mounted with a beautifully modeled Whippet or Greyhound. It has so much charm. Sitting patiently, but with that tension that dogs have when they are ready to bounce into action the second they are allowed to move! The head is held slightly to one side, and the dog looks intelligent and keen. The figurine has separated front legs. Which are very fine, with hand painted detailing to the face and paws. The body is lightly brushed with matt grey. The edge of the saucer-shaped dish has an orange band around the rim. The base of the saucer has incised initials. Vintage Mallory Fedora Hat 7 1/4 Stetson Whippet Style Wide Brim Binding!
Up for bids we have a splendid vintage fedora from a legendary name in American hat-making: Mallory. The Mallory Hat Company opened its doors in Danbury. CT in the early years of the 19th century; over the course of the next 150 years, some of America's best fur felt hats bore the Mallory label. Tags, stamps, and trimmings on this Mallory indicate a mid-to-late 1950s production date. Whereas the typical black felt hat will have a bit of a somber or severe look to it, this black felt Mallory actually has a rather snazzy profile, thanks to its streamlined proportions& boffo trimmings. This hat's brim is finished with a dramatically wide 3/8" grosgrain binding-just like Stetson's much-beloved"Whippet" model. As a further enhancement to this Mallory's sporty look, the crown is adorned with a snappy"back-bow" ... moreribbon treatment in a contrasting color. The back-bow look for men's hats enjoyed two brief periods of vogue in the US: the look first emerged as a trend during the mid-to-late 1920s. I guess the jaunty back-bow style was a little too whimsical for folks once the Great Depression began to grind away at the American spirit: the look faded away in the early 1930s. Only to reappear during the economic boom America enjoyed in the mid-1950s. I guess there must be something about prosperity that inspires fellas to try a hat featuring styling that's a little out-of-the-ordinary, eh? In any case. The 50s-era back-bow trend amounted to little more than a brief fad, so we don't see many vintage examples at this late date. That makes this sharp-looking Mallory something of a rare bird, I suppose. Of course, this lid has more than just its unique profile going for it: this is a beautifully fashioned vintage hat& it's in great shape, to boot! Vintage Chamberlain Fedora Hat 7 Stetson Whippet Style 3/8" Brim Binding!
When you're searching for a top-quality vintage fedora. It's always a good idea to keep an eye peeled for"private label" or store-brand hats offered by the high-end hat shops of yesteryear. Decades ago, retailers specializing in hats would often contract with America's best hat manufacturers to produce"exclusive" lines of private label lids bearing their store name& insignia. An exclusive line of mens' hats brought a store a certain measure of prestige, of course, but more importantly, branded hats constituted a subtle form of free advertising: any fellow admiring a colleague's swell new hat hanging on the office hat rack merely had to take a peek at the liner's crown tip to know exactly where his buddy picked up his sharp-looking new fedora. We have an especially nice private label lid of this ... moresort up for bids presently. This hat was made for the long-gone Boston"Chamberlain" chain of hat shops. Chamberlain was a big player in Boston hat retailing for many years-around the turn of the twentieth century. There were three large Chamberlain hat stores in the city. Tags, stamps, and trimmings on this Chamberlain hat indicate a late 1950s production date. By that time, the hat biz in general had contracted a bit and Chamberlain was down to two stores(as noted on this hat's sweatband) Nevertheless, Chamberlain must have still been doing a fair amount of business at that point, since they could afford to commission a line of nice private label fedoras like the one you see here. This hat was made for Chamberlain by the now little-remembered Melton Hat Company. Melton may not have a great deal of present-day name recognition, but they made some mighty fine lids, under both their own name& for retailers like Chamberlain. I have a couple of Meltons in my own collection and they're among my favorite fedoras. This item is very unique. It is an advertisement for a car dealership in Silverton. Oregon from the early 1900's. It is 18" x 7" It is made of approximately 120 thin pieces of wood about an eigth of an inch wide and sewn together to make a hanging art type piece. An outdoor scene has been hand painted on it. At the bottom an advertisement that reads Complements of. ALLEN BROS GARAGE. WILLYS-KNIGHT and WHIPPET. MOTOR CARS. PHONE MAIN 19. Silverton. Oregon. On the inside of the wodden box lid in pencil is printed"4 of Oct 1904" along with some other printing. This appears to be a complementary gift this dealership was giving. I found this in a storage locker I purchased at an auction. Based on the phone number"MAIN 19" this is a product of the early 1900's. The condition is only fair due to dirty spots. ... moreIt has no rips or tears. You can tell by touching it that it is hand painted. For whatever reason the wooden box also has two packs of Wrigley Juicy Fruit Gum that was 25 cents new.

This Vintage set of Bookends. There were purchased at a dog show about 50 years ago. These have just been stored in a chiro. We do believe not 100% sure but looks to be like a greyhound. I see no chips or cracks on the porcelain. The bottom felt as you can see in the photo some is missing from the bottom. There is gold trim around the collar and the base. On the gray collar there is a darker gray. Not sure if that is faded or if it was to be like that both collars have it not the same size. These are in beautiful shape other then the bottom. Up for auction is this Lovely early 20th Century Figural Match Safe& Cigarette holder with its original Bronzed finish. This desk top match safe features a very proud looking Whippet or Greyhound dog Finely cast from spelter or white metal and finished with a lovely warm bronzed patina. The match safe/cigarette holder measures approximately 9" long x 5" wide x 5" tall and is in very good vintage condition. The only condition issues worth mentioning are that it does not sit completely flat and will rock slightly when set on a flat surface. And there is a little scratch to the bronze finish on the dogs neck that you can see easily in the 2nd picture. The only markings I can find on this piece are the letters"FB" which is probably a foundry mark. The match holder and cigarette holder are made of brass and easily ... morewill slip out for cleaning, and the body of the piece has a ribbed design for striking your matches. If you're fond of vintage hats. Chances are you're a fan of the fabled Stetson Whippet. For many hat wearers(myself included) the iconic Whippet represents the pinnacle of mid-twentieth century dress hat styling. The Whippet's brim, crown, and ribbon proportions combined with its dramatically wide grosgrain brim binding to create a truly classic fedora profile that can make even an ugly mug like me look like Robert Mitchum. Decades ago, a lot of fellas must have found the Whippet's profile similarly flattering: the Whippet was one of Stetson's top-selling models year-after-year, beginning with its introduction in the early 40s all the way until 1960 or so. Of course. Many other hat companies recognized the appeal of the Whippet's attractive styling; most American hat-making firms offered their own"Whippet-esque" ... morefedoras with similar trimmings. While Media Mail and Parcel Post are cost effective they are also the slowest methods of transport. Within the continental U.S. lower 48) these can take up to two or three weeks to arrive. When choosing these methods for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico expect delivery time of a month or more. This also applies to APO/FPO addresses. Please keep this in mind when choosing class of mail during checkout. DO NOT EXPECT TO RECEIVE MEDIA MAIL SHIPMENTS ANY SOONER THAN TWO WEEKS. Sometimes it may arrive quicker. Most times this is not the case. In some instances when Parcel Post is chosen we may upgrade the shipment to Fed Ex Ground since they are a more efficient means of transport.
