Zorki 4 Russian rangefinder, Jupiter-8 50mm/2.0, leather case, Leningrad 2 meter
This is a used KMZ Zorki 4 Russian rangefinder 35mm camera in very condition for its age. It is a 1961 model in perfect working order. I ran two rolls of film through it and all photos came out perfectly(as long as I didn't botch the focus or exposure) It is clean with minimal patina. Just some minor chips here and there on the black part of the body and some minor wear on the top plate. Overall. Very impressive condition for its age. The focus is accurate, the shutter speeds seem accurate as none of my photos were too far off. Even the slow shutter speeds and the self timer work! The shutter curtains are in excellent shape and it is very clean inside. These cameras from the FSU(former Soviet Union) are full manual and as pure as photography gets. No light meter. No auto focus, no auto winder, no automation of any kind, and no batteries ... morerequired! Early Zorki models were essentially Leica II/III copies, the 4 however, is more like the M series with combined focus/composition viewfinder. It is very easy to use. I WILL WARN YOU RIGHT NOW THOUGH! If you are not familiar with vintage Leica or FSU rangefinders, please heed this warning now. You MUST cock the shutter before changing shutter speed. Failing to do so can jam the shutter. It is a 50mm f2.0 lens with a M39(LTM) Leica Thread Mount. Basically a copy of the pre-war Zeiss Sonnar 50mm f2. This particular lens is also a 1961 model in excellent shape. No haze. Fungus, scratches or dirt. I can't believe how nice the optics look. There is some minor brassing and wear on the exterior finish of the lens, but overall, very good condition for its age. Finally. Very nice cosmetic condition. I have not really been able to test it. The EXP-1 batteries are no longer available. I rigged up 2 other batteries in an effort to test, the needle became active, and seemed to give me a reading. This meter is more collectible than usable.
