This was purchased at the estate sale of a 103 year old woman whose family had owned a hardware store since the late 1800s. This was used in their store. The black metal parts have a heavy black japanned finish. I don't know what type of wood was used to make this but the curved wood part on top has a bird's eye grain. The wood part on top has a groove for the rubber ring with 14 pairs of loops for the fishing pole tops. There are 14 corresponding round recessed spots in the bottom piece of wood for the base of the fishing rods. Unusual must have display rack for the antique fishing rod and reel collector! Condition: It is all original and is in very good condition with all original parts intact. No cracks or chips in the metal and most of the original japanning is intact.some rubs and oxidation from use but they are pretty minor. Measurements: 33" tall overall. The bottom measures 11" in diameter and the top measures about 6 3/4" in diameter. The rack is easily unscrewed from the heavy cast iron base so I might ship the base separately if it will reduce shipping costs. Markings: None I have many other great items up for auction. Old Copper Gumball Machine Cast Iron Stand GREAT LOOK WITH IT BEING COPPER
Beautiful Copper gumball machine. Has a coin slot in the front where you get your gum! It stands 40" tall on the stand,thats pretty tall if you get out a tape measure and check it out for yourself) and would look great anywhere. There is very little wear on the unit, the copper is shinny in areas where it was touched more. Its absoluty great. The stand is solid iron, and black in color. The coin slot does not recieve coins, but it does dispense candy when you turn the knob. Great peice for your home, shop, garage The copper gives it a great look that will appeal to most. PIP30 with a K52-14 bar to hold both machines. This is a commercial grade machine, built to last many years and to make you money! This was purchased at an auction and had gum and cashews in it to vend. I completely disassembled both heads and soaked all pieces(except for the coin mechanisms) in 180°F hot water and dish detergent for 30 minutes. The pieces were then rinsed. Dried and reassembled and 2 brand new keyed alike locks(2 keys included) were installed.
