Here is an excellent used pair of Zeiss Jenoptem wide angle 10x50s with strap and original case. They are fully multicoated German porro-prism binoculars with BAK4 prisms. What. Some may ask, is the difference between Zeiss and Zeiss Jena? Both are real Zeiss binoculars: bank on that first of all. After WW2, Zeiss was partitioned in two. The original facility at Jena was abandoned by the upper levels of Zeiss management and most of the senior workers: who went west. This left comparatively green craftsmen at Jena. But Jena was the original facility, and the natives of that city still had optics in their blood. The result was slightly antiquated, slightly less robust binoculars of supreme optical quality. Carl Zeiss Jena 165mm f4.5 Tessar Series 1c 4x5 5x7 Rare Lens Compur Shutter
Here is an awesome lens for any large format shooter- 165mm f4.5 Series 1c Carl Zeiss Jena. The glass is perfect on it and the shutter woks at all speeds. The only issue is that the shutter has one out of four blades broken- most of the time it opens and closes perfectly. But sometimes that blade doesn't close all the way OR overshoots the point of stoppage- this can be easily repaired or you can find another shutter for it, which should be very easy. This would be a great lens for wet plate as you can use it wide open for that process and you don't need a shutter. Original mounting flange is included as you can see in the pictures. Good luck bidding- this is a very rare lens- I can't find ANY prior sales of ones like it and the glass on this one is really nice. Wow what a fabulous heavy duty hard to find pair of binoculars. The frames are brass it is crystal clear. I would guess these to be early 1920's era. They just don't make them like this anymore. Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar f4.5 40mm T Lens for Exakta
Here is a very nice vintage Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar f4.5 40mm T lens with an Exakta mount. The lens focuses fine but is somewhat stiff in areas when turned. The diaphragm works fine. The glass has a mark near the edge. It is hard to tell what it is since the glass is so small but I'm pretty sure it is not fungus. It might be a nick in the glass with some dirt in it. There are some internal dust specs inside. With the right adapter you can use this lens on new digital cameras. I attached the lens to my NEX and have included some photos I took with it below. For auction is an exakta vx500 vintage camera(sn 1508576) with leather case. And carl zeiss jena triotar red T 1Q 135mm F4 lens(exakta mount, sn 4002992) with both caps and original case. Condition: The camera is in used condition. Please check the photos for detail. The viewfinder is not clear and may need a good cleaning or replacement. The shutter works fine. However. Not film tested. The leather case came with the camera is missing the middle strap. Otherwise it is perfect. The triotar lens is in good cosmetic condition. Light signs of outer wear. Glass is very nice with no visible scratches. No interior mold. Fungus or haze. no oil on blades. However, the focus barrel is VERY STIFF. And DIFFICULT to rotate. Need lubrication if you want to use it. Aperture is OK. Maybe a little stiff. With the original Carl Zeiss Jena case. The case has'damaged' written on the outside. And as you can see the side panel is loose with no securing screws, and there are several loose parts that should probably be inside the theodolite somewhere, so it will definitely need the attention of an expert to repair it before it's ever used again! Also the small flip down mirror is broken and the end clip on the carrying case is broken so the lid doesn't close properly(Also shown in photos) It has signs of wear and use in places, but despite the obvious problems it looks very sound and bright and largely complete.
