Description A Pair of Collectible Antique Late 1800's Carl Zeiss Jena D.R.P. Feldstecher/ Binoculars. Serial No 1574. As to be expected these are well made. Great quality and still structurally sound, their low Serial No' dates these to around 1896 according to the information I found on the Internet( thanks! The Lenses have only very minor surface wear apart from the l/h objective which has a little damage associated with the adjacent knock as shown. Otherwise they have no cracks, chips or major damage and are firmly seated. The damage is not visible in normal use. The Binoculars focus well with a little dust visible in use leading to minor spotting and slight mistiness. But are still usable and mainly clear. There is no mold or damp internally. There is no evident internal damage. And there are no rattles when shaken. Both the Focusing ... moreOculars move and work well. There is no Grid or Range Finder visible through the Optics. Both of the Vulcanite Eye cups have very slight surface wear. But they are both structurally sound with no cracks or major damage. The Wraps have some surface wear and losses as shown but are mainly still intact. The Barrel Arms move well on the Central Bar. The Metalwork apart from the afore mentioned knock shows only surface wear and brassing. It has no major damage or structural issues. The Neck Strap to the Binoculars is intact and strong. A superb addition to a collection/ project. And/ or would make a great contemporary accessory. All the above is as shown comprehensively in the many pictures. Please examine them in close up before you bid, to satisfy yourself as to condition, suitability, etc. of the item(s) shown. I always show items in their true light.
