This is the story I was told when I acquired this and thru some of the research I've done: At the beginning of WWII when Marines were holding out on Wake Island the government asked newspaper editorial and political cartoonists to create drawings to inspire support for the war. A large number of satirical and patriotic drawings were published and acquired by the Marine Corps and printed as posters. This one measures 6" x 8" most were larger) The numbers in the lower left indicate it was printed 8/4/43 in a run of 2.000. It is printed on heavy card stock. It is in overall good condition-there is a small tear in the upper left and foxing mostly near the outer edges. Check out the mouse in the lower right and the names on the nuts. Suitable for framing. Two skirts, patch that's navy blue with a white stitched eagle with a white X and red v-shaped stripe. The jacket has blue buttons down the front(slight difference in size) round patches or badges with white anchors on them on the collar, and two faux pockets on front. It has the original label sewn inside which is marked Made and Sold Under Authority of US Navy U. S. Women's Naval Reserve with another small label with the owner's name. Jacket measures about 22" long(measuring from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the hem) sleeves are about 22" long, cuff is about 4 1/2" across, chest(measuring from under each arm across and then doubled) is about 36" CONDITION of jacket: a couple of teeny tiny holes-by the collar, on front& back of skirt, and lining inside is torn. This is an exceptionally nice authentic vintage WWII A-2 flight jacket by Aero Leather. All appears to be original and it has been stored for many years so conditioin is amazing. It came from estate of the original veteran. It says size 42. The zipper and all snaps work very well. There are a few very small pinholes in webbing on waistband that you have to be looking for to notice. Overall condition is amazing. It is a nice hard to find large size too. Basically this is an exceptionally nice and incredibly rare true WWII A-2 flight jacket in amazing condition too. It measures 22 1/2" from armpit to armpit. 20 3/4" from armpit to end of sleeve, 19" across top of back of shoulders, and 23" from bottom of collar to bottom of jacket. Reserve is $1. Good luck. Vintage WWII collection of paper money mostly Asian taped together with GI names
Here is a lot of 8 different pieces of paper money. I acquired them years ago in with a great lot of vintage photos. Medals, etc. from WWII. I am not an expert in any sense of the word on paper money. Please check out my photos carefully and ask any questions that you might have. They are taped together as you can see, and from the age of the tape, they were probably taped together during the war. Here's what we have; beginning at one end is a De Japanesche Regeering Half Gulden. A Five Pesos note with The Japanese Government on it and it has many names written on both sides of it. It is my understanding that it was common for sailors during the war, who were stationed at the same place to do this as a sort of memento of their time together. A few of the names I can make out are, PB Trembly, John Fitzwater, Dutch" Tekete, Charles ... moreLucas, etc. Next to that currency is a printed note(looks almost typewritten) dated July 15, 1943 with, United States Armed Forces in the Philippines in the Field War Circulating Notes TWO PESOS. then there is wording kind of hard to read, will pay the bearer on demand after the period of emergency. Next to that, a green and blue bill, The Central Bank of China Ten Dollars, dated 1928 Shanghai. Along the bottom is small print, American Bank Note Company' Next in blue, The Central Bank of China'Five Customs Gold Units' dated 1930. Next, Bank of Communications Five Yuan, dated 1941. Next, Farmers Bank of China' 5 Yuan. Along the bottom is very small print'Thomas De La Rue& Company Limited London' Last, a green bill'Bank of Canada' One Dollar with the date, Ottawa Jan.1937' The bill with all the names written on it has a piece missing from one corner, as you can see. The others are intact, but were obviously tightly folded at one time and show some wear, but no tears. My asking price is what I was offered for it several years ago, but wasn't willing to part with at that time. It's a piece my Dad appreciated as he served during WWII. N

AIRCRAFT PROTRACTOR CASE. This is a Wonderful Vintage Case or Wooden Box that enclosed a WWII era Aircraft Protractor from Bruning-Wallace of Chicago. This is the Wooden Storage Case ONLY. The Protractor is NOT INCLUDED. It is a Beautiful Wooden Case with Protractor information printed on the front. It housed a Mark-3 B Air Corps. U.S Army Aircraft Protractor. Vintage WWII (?) Possibly AUSTRALIAN V529 Military Wool Blanket, 80" x 61" GOOD!
Please be aware we are only guessing. Not affirming with total certainty, that this is a vintage Australian Army wool blanket of the V259 type of similar. The blanket looks military in its appearance, and it has a V and a number printed on it, but we can not tell what number it is, and there is no other label or information on the blanket. So please take a close look at the blanket and you will have to be the judge on this one. The blanket has a nice gray color with stripes. And it is heavy and in good condition. The close-up pic of the stains was underexposed in purpose so you could see the small spots. It measures 80" by 61" The bed used for the pics is a queen size that measures 80" by 60" The blanket looks the same on both sides. As you'll see below. The cluster of stains in on the same side than the printed"label"
