It is possible they may also have been used during the Korean War. I found these in my grandparent's basement. They are in pretty good condition for their age. A few spots of discoloring but. No crazing or cracks that I can detect. Minor flaws appear to be under the glaze. The glass is very thick and heavy. 3 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" outside diameter. Inside diameter is 2 3/4" 8 fl. oz. RARE OLDER VINTAGE M1907 WWII MILITARY TYPE SLING SPRINGFIELD, GARAND ETC.
CLASSIC OLDER VINTAGE M1907 WWII MILITARY TYPE SLING SPRINGFIELD. GARAND ETC. Sling. Small Arms: leather M1907′ Federal Stock Number 1005-714-1245. The US Army in WW1 issued the M-1907 leather sling for the M-1903 Springfield. The sturdy sling was so successful that it was used again during and after WW2 not only to carry the Springfield, but for the Garand and BAR as well. It was the standard by which all other slings are measured. This sling has seen some use somewhere. As shown in the pictures, and is complete and unmodified. It is stamped in oval banner"EL INDIO" with"Machine" on top and"Works" below. The 2 keepers are also stamped with the oval banner"EIMW" This is a heavy duty sling with thick 1/4" leather and stout fittings. It has thick black steel WWII type claw hooks with copper rivets ... moreas shown. This maker does not appear on the lists of the many known companies that manufactured M1907 slings during the world wars that I have seen, but these lists are of the known, and do not include the unknown. I have attempted to research this maker and have found that there is a small town in South Texas near the Rio Grande called EL INDIO that once had a factory. And there the trail goes cold. Vintage Bob O'Hara illustrations of WWII Fighter Planes made into place mats. This second place mat has the North American AT-6/SNJ Texan on one side and the Supermarine Spitfire MkV-B on the reverse side. These place mats were made in California. No date is given. They are in great shape and would look very nice framed. The color is a golden yellow. There are some spots of yellowing color variations on the'matt' side of each place mat. The tip is slightly bent. Its handle wobbles a bit. The other is a RARE single rivet type. It is marked Z7604 063. Its blade edge has dings. Both are the half tang type with long guards. I don't know the history of these and I don't know when it was produced. Similar ones seem to have condition and prices all over the place. It has Made in Germany on the leather part of the scabbard and on the blade. Actually says Solingen Germany and the name Black Panther. Other side has the#64 which seems standard on these. It has light rust and no major pitting. The edges are straight and no chips. The leather is in great condition and the scabbard has no dents and only minor paint loss on the tip. These are in pencil and I believe easily erased if desired. Cover has name in upper center. Looks to be the original center staples. These are complete through the inside pages. You are bidding on a 4-piece vintage lot of armed services issued western-style miniature edition books. The books included are.Deep West.Horsethief Creek.Pistols For Hire.Wolf Law. Each of the books has the same disclaimer on the inside of the front cover(see photo 3) along with having"Armed Services Edition" on the front. I'm not a collector myself but in my opinion. The books are in pretty nice shape considering their age. None of the covers are torn and there don't seem to be any loose or missing pages.mostly just normal wear. The only real issue with any of the books is the cover has come loose on the largest book. Vintage World War II WWII Era No.4 MK II Enfield Spike Bayonet w/Scabbard Sheath
