This is a"K" type Bausch& Lomb dissecting microscope. I believe it is a BKW model(or similar) but I could find no specific information on that. Physically it looks very much like a BKT-5( and it has features similar to the. This binocular or stereoscopic dissecting microscope has rack and pinion focus and a drum nosepiece(rotating turret) with objectives having magnifications of 0.7. 2.0 and 3X(the 3X objective seems to be quite scarce) It comes with matched pairs of wide focus 10X and 15X oculars. The width between the straight(non-angled) oculars is adjustable. The view is correct: right side up and not flopped(neither inverted nor reversed) The microscope is raised on a substage assembly or stand. Which may be removed. Vintage 1960's Japan Perfect Microscope Model 801 150X 300X 600X Wooden Box Comes with 2 blank glass slides- I am guessing that one is missing as there are 3 slots provisioned in the wooden box. Box is dovetailed and has a brass catch on the front and brass hinges appear to still be in good shape. Microscope- all the parts are there. Even the plastic dust cap on the top of the eyepiece. Issue- I can't get the eyepiece to adjust up or down with the knobs. It does move freely manually. It appears that a small piece of the internal toothed track is broken. Other than that it looks to be brand new. It would look good displayed on a shelf still in the box.

Here I have an Asahi Pentax Monocular 8x3 6.2 with case. I'm not exactly sure what this monocular is used for. It has an internal scale inside the lens. It has a focus ring. It has plastic. Glass like attachment that screws on to the end and turns it into a sort of microscope. I've read online that monoculars such as this. Can be used to determine remote widths of items such as tree trunks or sign posts or it can be used as a microscope, although I have no idea how to use this instrument. Vintage 1920’s German Steindorff Microscope in Perfect Working Order
Vintage Steindorff Microscope in Perfect Working Order. Germany. 1920s. With Plywood Case Fine German Steindorff microscope made in Berlin in the 1920s. This instrument is in good working order. The microscope has the classical black enameled iron base and frame. The mobile component parts are made of brass and chromed metal. It has a three-lens revolving nosepiece. All the microscope’s parts are original. Except the case that has been custom made, and work perfectly. The microscope’s turret bears an engraved inscription with the manufacturer’s name and the place where the factory was located: Steindorff& Co. Berlin. Under this inscription we can also see the instrument’s serial number: 50185. Steindorff& Co. Was a German firm that manufactured microscopes and scientific instruments for over one hundred years. In 1879 Emil Steindorff ... morefounded the factory in Berlin. And in 1915 his brother Otto shared the ownership of the company. After many years of development, in World War II the Berliner factory was destroyed but the firm kept on with their business. In 1951 an American branch was founded to distribute Steindorff microscopes in the USA. After decades of success, in 1986 the company went bankrupt. This particular microscope comes into a plywood protecting case with flexible handled and lock with key. Though it is not the original case. It is perfect to store and transport the instrument. The case is in good condition: the hinges are perfectly preserved and the outside is covered by a shiny transparent finish. Inside there is also a small plywood stand bound to support two lenses. The three lenses come with their metal corresponding metal sleeves. Any lover of scientific antiques will recognize a first-class item in this Steindorff microscope. MADE IN JAPAN. No other markings so I do not know the manufacturer. It is in nice shape for it's age- 1960's- some wear on the chrome on the eye piece and the thumb screw wheel dials. Minor paint chips on the exterior of the mirror. One slide clip is missing and one is there. Box shows some wear too- base and lid bot have one seam split. Approx. 5-3/4" tall with the eye piece completely down. 8 prepared slides and 3 blank slides for your specimen. I don't know where the slides were made as they are not marked. Vintage Brass Doctors Working Field Microscope Civil War Era
Untitled Document Description Civil War Era antique brass working Doctors Field Microscope is a great item to own or give as a gift. The microscope itself is in beautiful condition with what I would consider signs of normal use with some small surface scratches on the outside which should buff out and a tarnished patina on the inner surfaces of the tube. These surface blemishes do not take away from the usefulness or desirability of the piece and most likely will disappear if professionally cleaned. There is a light“tuning reel” on the side that adjusts the light source for pin point brightness to a much broader range of light across the entire slide. There are multiple size openings to adjust the light source needed accordingly. It is this small wheel/coin looking thing located on the side just below where the slides are placed. This brass ... moretuning wheel is what makes this a working Doctors field microscope. And not a simple student version. Plus there is an extra screw on the shaft that allows the doctor to secure the microscope to the desired height and keep it there without it slipping. A must have accessory when working long hours in the medical field with this type of microscope. The mirror reflects nicely. But could use a good polishing. The magnifying lenses have no cracks, but have some surface scratches, and needs professional cleaning. Also included is an extra wooden encased magnifier lens. This extra lens would have given the doctor a better look at any given tissue sample placed on a slide. This lens shows signs of field use with surface scratches on the lens that might polish out nicely. The case has a sizable crack running nearly the length of the lid and is not fully secure. But still has integrity. This working Civil War Era Doctors Field Microscope is a really awesome museum quality item all the way around!
