An unusually large vintage desktop map, document, insect magnifier or microscope
Here is an unusually large. Vintage three-legged map, docume nt or insect magnifier for a naturalist. Etc. It has strong magnification and would be useful to collectors, naturalists and hobbyists. This is made from brass. The focal length can be adjusted via a screw thread mechanism in the lens surround. The magnifier stands 3.5 inches(8.9 cm) high with the lens midway in its adjustment. And is 2.6 inches(6.5 cm) across the widest part of the top. There is some slight old polish residue and tarnish to the frame. And some marks on the lens, which look like old damp spots. If the lens can be removed, these should clean off, but they do not really affect the viewed image in any case. This is a useful piece. And looks fantastic displayed alongside a collection of documents, maps or other scientific items. This listing is for a Vintage boxed tasco microscope kit it has the instructions with it. The box is in good condition but there is a scratch and wear is noted through out. Minor scuffs and nicks. The microscope itself is in good condition but does need repair. Unfortunately the ring that holds the lens part that turns is chipped also the eye viewer doesn't seem to move. The thing to turn it does. I think the lens ring can be replaced or glued and it will work find. I am selling this as is condition. It does come with some slides, chemicals and some tools. Up for auction. Is a great example of a Vintage Antique early 1900s microscope by Spencer of Buffalo, NY, U.S.A. that I recently picked up. It has a wonderful patina, aged look to it. The serial number on this microscope is 67927. According to my research. That serial number places the Manufacturing date sometime between June 23, 1920 and May 23, 1921. This microscope is even OLDER than one that just recently sold for about $400. Both of the brass knobs turn and the mirror is intact. With"no cracks" It could use a cleaning if you prefer the polished look, but I know some collectors prefer the aged natural look, so it has been left untouched. I am no expert in microscopes. Please see the pictures below the description You are bidding on a vintage"Kima" monocular microscope made by W. Watson& Sons Ltd. London, serial number 104174. These are substantially built microscopes, of good quality, and made out of solid brass. I do not know much about the optics of microscopes, but this has a Watson viewing eyepice which is marked'42mm' and'x6' The turret has three object lenses which unscrew, and all lenses look good and clean. There is a Beck(London) lens marked'50mm' and'N.A.O.08' The next is a Watson'x10' B4798' PARA' and'16mm NA.28' and the third is a Watson'x50' B4548' PARA' and'NA.70. The microscope focusses well and both coarse and fine focussing controls operate smoothly. The condenser unit seems good and the diaphragm ... moreworks perfectly. The flat mirror is good, but the concave one has some spots as can be seen in the photos. The only two things I should point out is that the spring which acts as a click stop on the turret has snapped off(can easily be replaced) so you have to manually position the turret, and the clips that hold the glass slide have been made out of brass by somebody and are not the original ones. It does not have a box. I have taken plenty of photographs to show the general condition and what you are bidding on- please contact me if you need any further information and I will do my best to help. This is a complete and fully functional Nikon microscope with binocular veiwing head. Four Nikon objectives, adjustable stage, adjustable iris, and light source. All parts are authentic Nikon parts and all are made in Japan. This microscope is in excellent working condition with minor scratches of the black finish(enamel? from use only. The microscope comes with an inspection certificate from Nikon, Tokyo, Japan showing it has passed all conformity testing when it was manufactured in 1963. The microscope was purchased new by a physician in training and who used it personally in medical school. The microscope was subsequently stored and not used. I obtained it when he retired. He was an internal medicine physician in office practice(a specialty not in need of a microscope) and thus did not have a need for it. All the glass lenses look clear ... moreand scratch free. It features binocular viewing and the eyepiece lenses are Nikon Bi H.K.W. 10x eyepieces and are adjustable. The Nikon objectives are: 4x 0.1, 10x 0.25, 40x 0.65, Hi 100x 1.25. The stage has a slide holder with X an Y geared movements available by two adjusting knobs. The stage has both macro and micro height adjustments. This microscope comes with a Nikon light source with a power switch and dimmer control. The mirror is two sided, flat and concave and the light source is infinitely adjustable given a separate light source and mirror. This microscope is all metal and is heavy at about 15 pounds plus the wooden box. It would be great for a professional or student. This is a quality microscope and they just are not made like this any more. Slides seem to be a mix of histology slides covering human and non-human anatomy and pathology. All the slides are in excellent condition. None are damaged. None have cracked cover slips, all have original handwritten paper labels. Balsam on slides is a bit yellow around edges from age. I did remove all 100 from the box and checked them individually. All are nicely stained and contain large samples. I have included some photographs of slides pulled at random for you to see. Green paper-covered box has wood sides with slots for slides. I believe top and bottom are pasteboard. Some of the slides are a bit tall for the box and lid is a bit tricky to get snapped down. I would estimate these are from ... morethe 1930's- 1950's. offered fresh out of a local estate is this vintage Olympus Japan microscope in it s own fitted wood box. The microscope is numbered 220282. It measures prox. 10" tall and comes with 6 lenses. A half box of glass, a light attachment as well as a mirror attachment. The microscope looks to be well taken care of. There is one little spot on the back that has worn from rubbing in the case. The light takes batteries and has a little corrosion that needs to be cleaned. The fitted box is in good condition and comes with a key. Sold without a reserve.

Thanks! This is a wooden box containing a set of pathology slides made up by the Medical College of Virginia. In Richmond Va. This set originally contained 100 slides numbered 101-200. Please note that 8 slides are missing: 113.117,140,141,142,150,162,181, and the papers that come with your set have 202 and 204 penciled in on the papers, but these slides are not in the set. A random sample of 10 slides showed no significant defects that would detract from their use. I cannot guarantee that all slides are perfect. Or usable for your application. I will promise you that most of them are in great shape. Perfect item for teachers. Of for hours of amusement and learning if you like to squint through a microscope. I believe this set dates from about 1940-1950. I am no expert. So please don't take my guess as gospel, but look at the pictures ... moreand decide for yourself. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: Vintage Bausch& Lomb Microscope Mechanical Stage in Wood Box- Large Size NICE: For sale is this vintage Bausch& Lomb mechanical micrometer stage in fitted wood box. This is a large size stage and was clearly intended to fit a big microscope. Horizontal moving arm(X-axis) measures approximately 8 inches including knob on end of spring mechanism. Range of motion is approximately 110 mm. Vertical(Y-axis) arm measures approximately 5.5 inches in length. Range of motion on this axis is approximately 50 mm. For some reason scale on this axis goes from 90- 140 mm(rather than 0- 50mm) Both axis have vernier scales which allow reading to 0.01 mm. Distance between edges that hold slide are 3- 11/ 16 inches. This will fit stages up to approximately 9/16 inches. Distance between clamp screws which attach it to the microscope ... moreis four inches. It has what I assume is an inventory control number etched on the bottom. There is also some wear marks to the surfaces which would be in contact with the edge of the micrometer's stage. Otherwise appearance is excellent. It has no functional issues. All motions work smoothly, no pieces are missing. Fitted wood box has some soiling and wear from storage. This is a great child's microscope from the 1950's made by Accura. It is just over 5" high and adjusts downward with focusing. There is no light source. Just a small, adjustable mirror. Power is 10x. It comes with the original wooden box with a sliding lid. There are 12 prepared slides. The identifying label is off of one, but 11 have the specimen name along with"Japan" on the label.
