There are also the usual scuffs, marks, tarnishing and scratches that you expect from a used item of this age. The ring the drawtube screws in to is divided and it is a tight fit. The drawer tube moves up and down when the knurled bolt to the lower tube is moved, however, it is a little loose and doesn't stay in place.

Vintage Carl Zeiss 35mm Planar photographic objective for use with a microscope.
Rare Carl Zeiss Jena Planar photographic objective. F/4.5 and 35 mm focal length with a standard RMS screw fitting for use as a microscope objective. The aperture of the iris diaphragm can be changed from F/4.5 to F/25 and the iris works smoothly. From the style of the engraving etc. this probably dates from between 1925 and 1940. Optically it is excellent. Without misting, scratches or fungi but, of course, the lenses are not coated. The original black lacquer shows minor signs of wear(see pictures) I will post this worldwide but with"signed-for" postage. Please note that if the postage costs significantly less than the price quoted. I will send a refund.

Up for a No Reserve Auction is a Vintage Bausch& Lomb Microscope in its original box! This one of many auctions to come from the estate of a doctor who was a photography enthusiast. He loved cameras. I will happily combine shipping. This microscope has two objectives. They are marked. Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester N.Y. 2/3 0.24 N.A. Tube Length 160.0 M.M. and"Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester N.Y. 1/6 0.82 N.A. Tube Length 160.0 M.M. This objective has other markings I cannot read. The fine adjustment and coarse adjustment knobs focus perfectly. And turn wonderfully. They don't make'em like the used to! The fine adjustment knob is numerically ... moremarked. And the pointer from the body tube is still there, doing its job. The diaphragm focus and aperture both work as they should. The mirror is uncracked. And the swivel and dual-axis pivot both function correctly. The tilt/pivot of the entire upper microscope above the base functions as it should. The eyepiece freely rotates and does not have any pointing mechanism. Though when taken apart it appears there is a glue spot that used to hold a pointer. This is going to make a fantastic addition to any collection. I don't know the year. But something tells me that with this information, and the serial number in the picture you'll soon figure that out: I'm listing all of these auctions for a family friend. Vintage Carl Zeiss a1 45mm variable-power achromatic microscope objective.
Carl Zeiss Jena a1 45 mm focal length achromatic microscope objective. Of variable power from 1.5 to 2X, serial No 12734, with non-original brass can. The effective power of this rare and unusual objective can be varied by screwing the simple doublet objective up and down in the mount which screws into the microscope tube. From the"achromatic doublet" engraved on the face of the upper part of the objective. The black lacquer and the style of the engraving of the makers name, this dates from the period between 1925 and 1939; it is listed in the 1934 CZ catalogue. The can. Designated ao. Is not original but the objective fits in it neatly. Optically it is excellent. Without misting, scratches or fungi and, mechanicslly, the objective screws up and down easily. Vintage Dissecting Microscope 1.5x Objective Lens
This is a vintage dissecting or stereo microscope 1.5x objective lens. Measures app. 31.8 mm in overall height while the base is 54.7 mm long. The edges of the base are beveled for sliding into the mounting slot and measures 20.8 mm at the wide edge of the bevel and 17.6 mm at the narrow edge of the bevel. It has two separate optical paths, with lenses providing two slightly different viewing angles. This particular microscope was made in Japan. It is in very good condition, with the lenses showing a clear image, however, functionality beyond that is unknown. The microscope is built with two separate halves, which can separate from each other, and has a black body, with shiny metal eyepieces and focus knobs. The item on offer is a rare vintage(ca 1900) 140X Spencer microscope objective. Marked 140X NA 1.30, 57886, Homogeneous Immersion. The cosmetic condition of the objective is good, noting signs of wear to the lacquer of the case. Examination of the objective with a hand lens shows the optics to be clear and without obvious defects, but it has not been tested and is sold as is.
