VINTAGE 8 ½” ACHROMATIC TELESCOPE OBJECTIVE LENS
This is an early 8.5” clear aperture achromatic telescope objective lens. The focal length is 58” f/6.7) and it may have been originally used in a comet hunting telescope. The lens is not coated. As would be expected, and there are a few light scratches on the front element. The lens is air spaced and appears to have three small sections of a postage stamp inserted between the elements as spacers. I purchased the lens several years ago where it had been stored in the attic of an old house in New Jersey. I have not mounted or tested the lens. But it appears to have been of quality manufacture.
