This is an antique brass Henry Crouch microscope lens(objective) in a lovely brass cannister with old-style script writing on the top and numerals on the bottom. The lens fits perfectly inside the brass case and I am told it dates to possibly the 1860's. Comparative samples of Henry Crouch microscopes are here: Antique microscopes- Henry Crouch"1in- H. Crouch London" is engraved on the lid of the cylindrical case. On the bottom of the case is engraved a number 1 over number 5. The lens is approximately 3/4" in diameter at the threads. Length is approximately 1 11/16" from end to end. The case is approximately 1 9/16" high and the diameter is 1 1/8" The brass cap is threaded and fits perfectly. I ship promptly and pack carefully.
