Carl Zeiss PLANAR 50mm F1.7 T* Contax/Yashica Manual Focus Lens
Has been my favorite manual lens with Sony NEX. T he greatest feature of the lens is its geometrical accuracy. Strait lines stay strait. Good choice for product. Architecture, and other similar photography. I like color rendering which is warmer than Sony lenses mostly have. Bokeh is nice in most situations also. As you should expect from Zeiss. Sharpness stands well comparison with modern most expensive lenses. It is even wide open sharper than Sony NEX standard zoom at 50 mm, while being 4x faster. Please see pictures taken with lens and bigger size lens pictures. All jpg files are lens images and arw files are pictures taken with lens. Download arw files and look yourself(some are pictures taken with Sony NEX modern lenses for comparison) You will see. Lens is in good condition. Focus and aperture work nice and tidy(both are manual) Aperture ... moreblades are clean. Has some dust particles inside. What is normal to the age. Also rear lens coating has some markings. Please see two last images. I have not seen these to influence the quality of taken pictures. You can examine the picture files(not too good subject. But gives some idea of real lens) If you want. You can have my C/Y- NEX adapter with the lens for £10 added to total. Adapters for other camera models you can find in Ebay. Comes with front and rear caps. Front cap looks worn. Vintage Carl Zeiss 35mm Planar photographic objective for use with a microscope.
Rare Carl Zeiss Jena Planar photographic objective. F/4.5 and 35 mm focal length with a standard RMS screw fitting for use as a microscope objective. The aperture of the iris diaphragm can be changed from F/4.5 to F/25 and the iris works smoothly. From the style of the engraving etc. this probably dates from between 1925 and 1940. Optically it is excellent. Without misting, scratches or fungi but, of course, the lenses are not coated. The original black lacquer shows minor signs of wear(see pictures) I will post this worldwide but with"signed-for" postage. Zeiss Ikon Contarex I(Bullseye) Camera- 1958 To my eyes. This is one of the most beautiful cameras ever designed. Offered here is an absolutely mint example of this gorgeous camera. Even the bottom plate and the hot shoe show no ware. It comes with an original instruction manual and orange filter. Shown. Zeiss Ikon was the result of several German lens and camera manufacturers joining forces in 1926 to survive the depression in Germany during the 1920s. Zeiss Ikon made extremely fine and expensive cameras during the 1930s. Some also with an interchangeable lens, culminating in 1935 with the 35mm Twin-Lens Reflex(TLR) Contaflex camera that has an oversized reflex finder in order to make it suitable for the small 35mm cine film ... moreformat. In 1932. Zeiss Ikon had launched the well made and complex 35mm rangefinder(RF) Contax. Both were useful only for a limited range of focal length lenses. Neither solving the design problems introduced by using the small 35mm film format. Nor was the new Ihagee Kine Exakta. Launched in 1936, that employed the single lens reflex(SLR) concept perfect; its waist-level finder image was reversed. The solution that the opticians at Zeiss Ikon eventually devised for this inconvenience was a complex finder prism(pentaprism) placed just above the focusing screen that provided a right way round magnified eye level finder image. In 1949. The Dresden(East German) Zeiss Ikon 35mm SLR Contax S was shown with a pentaprism finder. This was a novel design. But quite poorly executed due to lack of quality in work and materials. In the mean time. Zeiss Ikon had relocated itself to Stuttgart, West Germany, starting from scratch. In 1953. They introduced the 35mm Contaflex SLR employing a fixed lens with a Synchro-Compur reflex leaf shutter. Selling a Carl Zeiss Jena Prakticar MC 35mm f/2.4 in PB(Praktica Bayonet) mount. This lens is optically the same as Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35/2.4. It just comes in a different mount. PB adapters are widely available on eBay- check big_is for PB to EOS adapters. Note: I used it with a Canon EOS camera and an adapter; I don't know if electrical contacts(intended for Praktica cameras) still function. The lens is in a working condition. But cosmetically it looks heavily used(see pictures) Smooth focusing, snappy aperture, clean and clear glass(very little dust inside) no scratches or cleaning marks. The brass against the black make this microscope a wonderful scientific display piece. 1) The removable Eyepiece Lens is marked on the barrel, Carl Zeiss Jena(engraved in script) The screw out eye optic(unscrews from the short barrel of the eyepiece lens) is marked, 6 Compens- Ocular. The bottom lens of the eyepiece(one that inserts in the top of the microscope) looks good. The top glass lens of the eyepiece has scratches and tiny pits(they do NOT show up in the photo) A guide fiber or hair has been internally attached(about rim to center) and can be seen when viewing. Wear and a some marks to the knurled ring. Turret objective lenses are: 1) The thinner objective lens is marked ... moreon the barrel, C 11 C. ZEISS C 5102(brass part near lens) Wear and tarnish. Shining a light at an angle on the front lens it looks good. 2) The shorter of the thick objective lenses(dull barrel) is marked, 3 E. Leitz Wetzlar Ind U 2. Wear. Shining a light at an angle on the front lens it has pits or bubbles. 3) The taller of the thick objective lens(shinier barrel) is marked, 1 12 Oel Immersion E. Leitz Wetzlar Ind. Antique Carl Zeiss Jena No 4(approx. 6X magnification) compensating microscope eyepiece for use with CZ apochromatic objectives. This compensates for the chromatic difference of magnification of these and other high-power objectives which would otherwise show colour fringes in the images. From the style of the engraving with the"achromatic doublet" and the nickel plating this probably dates from between 1905 and 1930. Optically it is excellent. Without misting, scratches or fungi. The original nickel plating is slightly dull and the paintwork shows minor signs of wear(see pictures) I will post this worldwide but with"signed-for" postage. The lens is optimized for 1:1 macro shooting with an image circle of 80mm. Suitable for 35mm, 6x6 medium format, or digital shooting. It comes with an M39 Leica thread adapter, for which adapters are available(e.g. from srb-griturn.com) to other mounts such as M42 thread, T-mount, and micro 4/3 digital mount. Also included is a homemade slide fit filter ring that accepts 52mm filters. As can be seen from the photos. The lens is used with some"dings" but the glass is in excellent condition with no scratches or fungus. There is some internal dust that should not affect image quality.
