You are bidding on a post WW 2 Canadian battle dress tunic. It has the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers shoulder titles that were used after 1944. The jacket also has a nice original set of Sergeant stripes. The inside pocket is marked but these markings have faded& we cant make out the date or maker. This style of battle dress was used until the early 1950's. We have black lighted the jacket& it does not fluoresce. This is a small size& in very good condition. There is some paint wear to the buttons& a small frayed section on the inside of the belt tongue. The inside of the waist band is also stamped with SM9255. I have many vintage electrical meters for sale this week. A Vintage Electrical Milliamp Meter in fantastic condition. Stamps on the back indicate it was used by. This item is a true part of Australian military and naval history. The RAN Fleet Air Arm used to be a big operation within the Navy. Back when we had big aircraft carriers like the. While it is still a distinuguished and important organisation. The Fleet Air Arm is now a much smaller part of the Navy providing only rotary winged helicopters and no longer aeroplanes and jet fights like the golden days. This item is from that past golden era that saw us engaged in such conflicts as Vietnam and the Korean war. I would estimate this item dates between the late 1940s to early 1960s. Based on the style I'd say it is in the early part of that range. Comes in what appears to be the original ... morestock box. I have no way to test this device so I do not know if it works.
