The liner is missing the chin strap and has some rub wear to spots. There are no chips or cracks to the liner. The helmet cover shows some wear and is a bit dirty. Swivel locking base(works good) Sliding Pipe Jaws-Anvil Top-5" Jaw Length-Opens about 6-3/4" before coming apart. Height: about 7" Length: about 13" Anvil(only flat surface) about 2-1/2" at wide end. Big handle slides smoothly even with bow to it. Little lock handle is a little bent& dinged up though it also moves freely. WWII/World War 2 M1 Helmet Steel Pot-Front Seam/Swivel Bale-Camo Paint
What a piece of history. I'm not at all well-versed in these helmets. But from my research- this is what I've gathered. Please feel free to correct me if I've misstated anything. I believe this is a WWII M1 steel pot. The rim is lined with stainless steel and its seam is in the front which dates it older than most as the seam was moved to the back in 1944. However. The bales swivel as opposed to being fixed, so it's not as old as the fixed ones. I don't know which branch of the military this helmet represents. There is an indentifying# on the back. But it's not real legible. It looks to me like possibly, E-1-2. But it's not real clear(especially the last# and it's possible some characters are missing or are no longer legible? I got this from a man in Hot Springs. AR who salvages buildings. He didn't know ... moreanything about where this particular helmet originated or where he got it. I'd sure love to know more. It looks to have been painted with camo- the colors green. Yellow, and blue. It is rusty and has a dent or two. It has no inside liner. The inside strap is mostly missing, and the swivel part of the bale on one side is missing. Please see my pictures to complete the description. I did take the maximum# of 12 allowed. New York for the ships of General Arnold’s Fleet in the summer of 1776 It is one of seveal 1 pounders that was found on this ship in the early 1900's. This shot is 1 15/16" diameter& in good condition with light pitting& still retains some of the origonal black lead paint& some of the red lead paint that shows through. Here's a used vintage Yale or Yale-Towne chainfall or hoist we received recently with some garage or workshop tool items. This one is a 1/2 ton spur gear type. We hooked it up to operate the chain and and the hoist seems to be operating properly. The hook at the top allows the hoist or chainfall to swivel 360 degrees as one would expect. This is a handy garage. Farm or barn tool for occasional heavy lifting requirement. It could use a little cleanup and some grease in the grease fitting would probably be a good idea but seems to be in good mechanical condition overall. We did notice some wear to the inside surface of the chain guide or guard piece caused when someone stands off center to the hoise then pulls the chain so that it rubs on the guide. The guide is still in structurally sound condition in this area but did want to mention ... moreit and show this area in the pictures. This is a hefty hoist that will weigh about 75 lbs when packed for shipping. It will be over the USPS limit so we'll be using UPS ground for the shipping service. The zip code and city to use as starting location for those who wish to do their own estimate of UPS charges to their location would be 03301 and Concord, NH. There is surface scrapes& wear down to the bare wood in places. Particularly on the seat.the center stem& legs/ spindaes show a beautiful column& circle design. The metal eagle claws show nice line detailing. Clear glass ball feet show minor chips but in very good condition& the bottom of the glass feet have a flat edge. The support posts are in very good condition but there seems to be a finial missing on the center post bottom. The seat had a cover on it at one time. Would look great with a needlepoint! Mid Century Modern Tulip Dining Table & Swivel Chairs Burke Similar to Saarinen
Vintage Burke Tulip table and 4 swivel chairs. This is a very unique set. The original table is a nice rosewood laminate and is in overall very nice condition. There are some minor nicks around the edges. The tulip base I believe is aluminum and has a weighted center, the table top is removable as pictured. The top measures 48" in diameter and is 29" high. The 4 swivel chairs are a unique blend of colors with a naugahyde/vinyl mustard yellow back and armrests along with a vinyl removable seat cushion that is nice because you can wipe them clean when needed, the color on them is an aqua. The swivel bases are self centering and all function. Even the original foot glides are unique as they swivel to contour to an uneven floor. Burke really did a nice job on this set.
