Vermeer Ditch Witch 1230Trencher
Selling a Vermeer 1230 Ditch Witch. No trailer. Last fall we replaced the roller tip on the bar and have not used(except to test briefly) since. The tarp came off this winter so the shiny new roller tip(cost $150.00) has a fine coat of rust. We also replaced the pull start recoil which is still missing a bolt or two. Pulls and runs but should be tuned up proper. The chain is not perfect nut very functional. From the center of the auger bar to the furthest tip on the chain is approx. 40" It is slightly out of adjustment so it drives forward a little when idling. This has not been a problem. Just pull back a little and it stops. The engine is a Honda. The size was on the old pull start cover. maybe 12hp and 30" depth(1230) Not sure of the age, iI' was left at my rental property 8 years ago. Ditch witch Trencher hydrolic backhoe
This is a stand alone trencher and from the photos you can see it digs pretty good without spending ridiculous amounts of money. It is in excellent condition. Has a leak on one of the seals, but still works good. I have a bag of replacement seals that came with it, but haven't replaced it out, because it hasn't slowed it down a bit. I modified the out riggers to allow it to dig sideways. I also added built in jacks to make it easier to swap out the out riggers and wheels for transport.

For Sale is a 1997 Ditch Witch 1820 Trencher AND S2A Trailer. Trencher is in good working condition. The cup teeth and bullet teeth are still in good working condition. I have several cup and bullet teeth I will give to whoever buys it. It was just serviced at a local Ditch Witch dealer. It starts. Runs and works and does not need any major repair. Belts, chain, tires are in good order too. All the gauges work. I am the second owner. The trailer is a tilt trailer and the tires are fairly new with maybe 5k miles on them. Ditch witch Trencher hydrolic backhoe ...sold locally 7/12/14
This item sold locally 7/12/14 This is a stand alone trencher and from the photos you can see it digs pretty good without spending ridiculous amounts of money. It is in excellent condition. Has a leak on one of the seals, but still works good. I have a bag of replacement seals that came with it, but haven't replaced it out, because it hasn't slowed it down a bit. I modified the out riggers to allow it to dig sideways. I also added built in jacks to make it easier to swap out the out riggers and wheels for transport. The boom has 2 positions. 5 foot depth of cut, it's in this position in the pics as you can see from the last pic with the yard stick in the ditch) and 6 foot depth of cut. Walk Behind Trencher, Wisconsin Engine, Charles Machine Works, Ditch Witch
We believe this machine was manufactured in the 1960's. It was made by the Charles Machine Works later to be known as Ditch Witch. It has a Wisconsin AENLD Engine. I dont know how the horse power is rated on these engines. It starts with a rope that you manually wrap. It has an old time external magneto points ignition system. I did clean the carb and add new gaskets and crank case pulse line. I also added a fuel filter. The tires are age cracked but have tubes and work well. Lugs lock in nicely and all digging functions work well. Please refer to the pictures for details.
