Up for sale is this wonderful paper cutter. The handle is marked Ingento. The piece has a wood base and a cast metal or iron cutter. It measures almost 9” by 9” It is in great working condition with normal wear from use and age. I believe this is a number 3 but it is not marked so I don’t know for sure. I think it is complete but I am no expert on these pieces so please look at all of the photos to determine the true condition. Vintage Large Paper Cutter 1152 Ingento 18" Ruler made in U.S.A.
I purchased this Ingento Paper Cutter at an Estate Sale and I tested it by cutting through 10 sheets of paper and it cut through the paper smoothly(please see last photo) The handle is marked: 11 52. The directions for installing a new spring and adjusting the blade and ruler are on the bottom. The blade feels like it needs adjusting because it feels like it is too tight and gets stuck if you lift the handle all the way up. The wooden ruler is chipped and split near the edge where the blade comes down. The wooden section where the blade rests when in the down position looks chipped also. This paper cutter is very heavy and weighs about 15 pounds. The top surface measures approximately 18 1/2" x 18 1/2" I believe that there should be a safety latch to hold the handle in place but it is missing. This is a vintage Ingento No. 1152 paper cutter in very good condition and works perfectly. This is a large cutter. The surface area for cutting is 18 1/2 inches by 18 1/2 inches. The blade is very sharp and cuts perfectly. The wood is in very good condition with no chips. Nicks or cracks. The spring mechanism for keeping the handle raised works perfectly. There is a glob of what appears to be glue of some sort on the wood part. It's not that big and shouldn't affect the use of the paper cutter. It is very heavy and sturdy. I tested the cutter and it still cuts perfectly. There are some holes in the wooden platform that the paper sits on and I am not sure if these are from original manufacturing or added sometime down the line. Please see all pictures for details.
