Moreso toward the bottom of the form. It stands 49" from base to top and the form itself is 32" tall and 31.5" around the waist. This"TASTY" little Vintage Dress Form is in EXCELLENT condition. Which I have found to be VERY RARE for a Dress Form of this age and style. It was made by the J.R. Bauman Normal Model Form. Inc. in NY. The base has cast iron fee t on rollers. With a cage bottom. It can telescope to approximately 8ft It has a size 12 on the front. However I have a vintage dress on it that is a size 8, There are 3 slight worn areas over the right shoulder(see photo) Other than that, the bodice linen fabric is all in tact and the seams are as they should be. The cast iron wheels are rusted, but I believe with some WD40 they could be made to roll again. Up for consideration is a very nice old vintage dress form mannequin. Fully adjustable cloth covered formed body with metal base. Unique design. I haven't seen one quite like this before. The last photo shows underneath and inside how it looks and the bolts that can be adjusted. Little tabs on the outside all over that can be pressed to adjust the size easily. Will easily adjust down and base will fold together for easy storage, or use for a display. Great condition with no tears or breaks. Some discoloration to the fabric as it was partially covered in areas so there is color variation. Looks like the top has a bolt missing which could be easily be replaced. Beautiful Tall Vintage French Mannequin Dress Form made our of plaster over fabric. Brass arm and neck plates. Brass tacks on cotton lining. Wood underpart of dress form where the cast iron attachment holds the wood base. Wood turned column with dark green paint on two circular rings. The only markings I see say"FF" on the underside of the cast iron attachment. Some of the plaster has small chips which have flaked off. This is a wonderful piece to add to any dress shop. Unique Vintage Antique Wire & Wood Dress Form - Mannequin on aTurned Wood Base
This is an antique dress form or mannequin made of wire on a turned wood base. The shoulders are wood with a wood dowel down the middle that fits into the base. There are wire loops in the top of the turned part and also on the base for strings to hold the wire form in place. At one time it was covered in burlap. It is 58" tall. The base is about 21" tall and 16" wide. The wire form is 16" by 14" across the bottom, 13" by 10" at the waist, and 14" by 11" at the bust. It is 15" wide at the shoulders.

This dress form is made by J.R. Bauman Normal Model Form. Inc. in NYC. Marked Size 16.5. Model 196S. These are very rare in this size. The fabric cover has some wear from use on the shoulders and chest. Iron base and pedal do not adjust in height. This is a solid wood body form not collapsible these are much more rare. Antique Mannequin Dress Form or Magicians Vintage Trick Table Base - WILL SHIP
This adjustable collapsible mannequin belonged to my great great grandmother and it was in her Beauty Salon in the 1920's-1970's. It may be older. As she was born in late 1890's. The base is on wheels and could be used for a magicians table base. Prop parts, magic or music stand or any number of theatrical theme ideas or settings. This is a vintage mannequin form display or for sewing purposes. We have seen Broadway plays and other theatrical uses of similar mannequins. We do not know the actual age of this item but the base could pass for Victorian age. Hermann the Great. Kellar, Thurston etc. come to mind with props using this kind of base.
