ANTIQUE BRASS LEAD BALANCE SCALE WEIGHT IRON HOOK 15 1/2 POUND FREE SHIPPING
Offering a scale hook similar to a cotton scale weight but a light coat of lead over brass. I do not know what was the purpose of this weight unless it was around something that was not to cause a spark for fire. On top of the weight there are numbers 1156 with the head of a screw next to it. Purpose not known unless to pour in hot brass in a hole not sure. In fact I am not sure what this weight is used for but it is plenty heavy an in good condition. Without hook it stand appt. 6 3/4" tall an 4" cross bottom. The iron hook is 9" long an has a weird shape to it. Maybe someone can tell me what this weight was used for. I am curious. Also if I am asking to much for it. I try my best at giving a fair representation of all my items an should your dissatisfaction with the item an be due to an error on my part.
