No date stamps in the other drums. The original white marine pearl wrap is in good condition. Drums look nice and are very presentable. Bass drum wrap seams are down flat. Has one very small split near the tom mount bracket. See 2nd to last pic, and has a small patched piece near the bearing edge. See last pic. Sonor Force 14x14 Flr Tom in BOP (vint-afied)
OK so here is the story. I bought this shell off Ebay. Originally it has a black laquer shell. Shell is dated 304. I think it was purchased in 2006(new) I sent the drum to JR Frondelli(he writes for Modern Drummer and makes his own line of drums) JR wrapped it and rounded the edges and I used it with an early 70s bass drum and small tom. The drum had that vintage tone and is easy to tune. I don't play as much as I'd like these days and would love to see this in the hands of someone who can appreciate it. Note on the finish. Because its black oyster pearl over black lacquer the white of the wrap shows more as grey. It still looks classy. Note 2. The wrap seem is up just a hair and should be glued down. Beautiful Ludwig 60s Vintage 14"x14" Floor Tom Very well cared for. And it shows. This one has obviously been stored correctly. Pre-Serial number badge which dates this drum to the early 60s. I don't see a date stamp on the inside. 3 Ply shell with Maple rerings Shell is in round and heads fit right on easily. The original Blue Oyster is in absolutely amazing condition! Down tight and seam is flat. No rips or tears. Color is very strong and even. Doesn't appear to have any fading! I took one lug off and included a pic to show this. No extra holes! Top bearing edge is excellent. Bottom has one rough spot. See last pic. The chrome is excellent. No funny business with this drum. You'd be hard pressed to find one nicer. Camco Oaklawn 60s Vintage Aristocrat Drum Set 8x12 14x14 14x20 Clear Maple Nice!
Camco 60s Vintage Drum Set A very unique opportunity to own a rare and wonderful Camco Kit. Matched set. They have been very well cared for and it shows. I've kept these in my smoke-free home. Oaklawn badges! 8x12 14x14 and 14x20 Clear maple finish! They usually don't age this well. A true survivor! The tom and bass drum have some very fine checking. The worst area is near the rail consolette. The floor tom finish is stunning.near mint. The only blemish is on the backside of the drum. And it's pretty small. See last pic. Absolutely the nicest Oaklawn floor tom I've come across over the years, without question. Clear maple Oaklawn kits are a rare find. It wasn't until the early 70s that maple finish kits started taking off. The vast majority of Camco 60s Oaklawn kits were sparkles and satin flames. The toms have the desirable ... moreheavy brass hoops! These Jasper maple shells are in round. The interiors are exceptionally clean. Badges have not been tampered with. The factory bearing edges are superb. No extra holes! Some of the rerings have pulled away a little at the scarf joint area. This is very common with Camco shells. And it doesn't cause any problems whatsoever. I'm sure it's an easy fix with glue and clamps, but they're perfectly fine the way they are, so I never wanted to bother with them. The bass drum rering is shown in the pic. That's the worst one. Genuine Camco white coated heads except for the bottom tom heads. They are new clear heads. How do they sound? Truly amazing! Many vintage drums only have one or two sweet spots. Because of the way the heads float on these beautiful shells. You can tune them high for that bebop sound, or low for rock. They sound great either way. These shells sing like no tomorrow! No funny business with these drums. Buyer will be very pleased with this Camco kit. Slingerland JAN 17 1966 Gold Sparkle 14x14 Floor Tom
Open to International Bidders! This No Reserve auction. Is for a vintage 1966 Slingerland model# 1423"Standard" series floor tom. There is no badge on this drum. It was made during a period when Slingerland did not put badges on floor toms or mounted toms. There is however, a factory date stamp of"JAN 17 1966" clearly stamped in ink on the inside of this drum. The shell measures 14" deep x 14" wide. And is made up out of three plies of wood( maple/poplar/mahogany) and features large solid maple interior glue-rings. The inside of this drum is factory finished in natural maple, but the interior has been cleaned and sealed with paste wax, and there is a creamy white paste residue all over the screws and also on the wood finish. Fortunately, the paste wax can be easily removed with a mild soapy water mixture. This ... moredrum was manufactured in the Shelbyville. Tennesse Slingerland plant. The bass drum that came with this drum, has the red colored Shelbyville badge on it. The exterior of this drum is factory wrapped in Slingerland gold sparkle covering. As you can see from my pictures. The gold color is bright, highly glossy, and is free from scratching and ripping. The color is ever so lightly faded, it seems that Slingerland used a lighter, more gol;den variation of this sparkle material, as compared to the kind used in the 1970's, which has a decidely more orange coloring to the pearl. This drum is factory equipped eight Soundking double-ended lug casings. Three Slingerland floor tom leg brackets, 16 Slingerland tension rods, two chrome plated brass Slingerland stick-saver hoops, and a Slingerland internal muffler assembly. The three legs are generic models, but they fit snuggly into the individual leg brackets. All of the metal parts are beautifully chrome plated, and are in terrfic condition. This silver sparkle floor tom comes bearing the iconic Keystone Badge[506xxx] and is constructed of a 3-ply Vintage Ludwig shell w/ reinforcing rings. The Holy Grail of Bop Kits! Vintage Gretsch Round Badge Kit 8x12 14x14 14x18 This one is nice! Looks and sounds great! Extremely well cared for. The original Black Nitron is very nice. Only minor scratches here and there. The interiors all have the original silver sealer and paper tags. Interiors are immaculate. The factory bearing edges are all excellent. 6-Ply Jasper shells. Shells are in round. Tom heads are snug. Bass drum has been changed over to Rogers spurs and tom holder. Rogers tom bracket added to the 8x12. Bass drum originally had Gretsch disappearing spurs and a rail consolette. Rogers components were known to be far superior to other manufactures during this era and installing them on Gretsch and other kits was pretty common. They are far more robust than Gretsch components and much more practical. They are era correct. So the ... morekit still looks the part. Not out of place at all. The chrome is in very good shape. Original chrome over steel bass drum hoops are superb. Amazing drum set! No funny business. The badges have not been tampered with. This is the real deal. Not a bass drum conversion. Buyer will be very pleased with these drums. They will not disappoint. Without the Rogers mods. This would easily be a $10,000 kit. A rare find in this condition. Vintage Ludwig 14x14 & 15x12 toms - 3 ply clear maple
For your consideration we have two Vintage Ludwig tom tom shells with 3-ply clear maple interior s. Drums came to me wrapped in black vinyl which after I removed left some glue residue on both shells. Inside of both shells are a bit dirty with some scuffs and scratches. First 7 pictures are the 14 and the last 5 pictures are the 15. 14x14 comes with original badge# 727773(late 60's) and grommet(used a dremel tool to remove so back half of grommet is missing- no damage to shell) One original 8 lug rim, and 16 original lugs and t-rods(a few might not be original and no washers) Shell is in round(14" head fits nicely) with no extra holes or modifications. However, looks like the drum was dropped which left a hole on the outside of shell(not all the way through) and cracked the inside a bit- see photos. Bearing edges are in good shape. ... moreChrome is nice and bright with a few scuffs and rust. Previous owner must have removed original wrap as parts of the mahogany outer ply were missing under the vinyl- see photo. Missing leg mounts, legs, one rim, muffler and heads. 15x12 comes with two original 8 lug rims. 8 original mach lugs(one lug is just missing the mounting screws and one lug is broken and missing mounting screws, springs and receivers) 12 t-rods(missing washers and some rods are bent) However, you could put classic lugs on this drum by drilling one extra hole above each existing hole and turn this drum into a jazzy size floor tom or a monster Bonham size rack tom(see photo- classic lugs for illustration only and not included) Shell is in round(rim fits smoothly over shell- I do not have any 15" heads) with no extra holes or mods. Bearing edges in good shape. This drum is also missing some parts of the outer mahogany ply. Chrome is nice with some rust and scratches. Missing 4 t-rods, badge(probably B/O mid 70's) muffler, heads, and clip mount.
