New Holand Sickle bar mower trailer style, Hay cutter
I have a New Holand trailer style sickle bar mower that I no longer need. I bought it from an estate this past spring we were told it has not been used in two years. Since we bought it we found a tractor mounted sickle and are using that instead of this one. The only problem I know of is it needs one new hydraulic hose for the lift cyl. The bar is seven foot cut with hydraulic raise and lower it is PTO drive and takes very little horse power to operate. Buyer must pay Pa sales tax and pick up in Pennsburg Pa 18073, payment due in 7 days and pick up with in 10 days unless prior arrangements have been made. Sold as is with now warranty and no returns. I have a loader here and can load on your truck or trailer. Paper money at pick up is my favorite.

It has a 18" blade that is 2.5" wide at its widest point and tapers to 2" It has 2 4.5" handles that are attached by steel rings. One of the handles do not look original to the piece however. The blade will be removed for shipping. The long piece is one solid piece of wood. It must have taken time to find a branch that would work to to create this tool. Big Antique Pressed Steel Toy Farm Tractor w Sickle Bar Mower Hay Rake Marx 1940
This colorful antique pressed steel toy farm tractor is big. About 11" long and when the sickle bar mower is hitched up the length of the pair is about 18" The toys are very sturdy and well built and underneath the tractor and both implements are stamped"Made in U.S.A. in a circular pattern(Marx Co. The tin driver shown is an antique one but he is not the correct driver for the tractor but was with it when I got it. Still, if you wedge him in between the seat and the steering wheel he looks OK sitting up there. The blue and yellow sickle bar mower is 11" wide and no longer works but it looks like it is complete(except for the driver)and it displays well with the tractor. I believe the mower could be repaired to work by someone who knows what they are doing. The matching yellow and red hay rake implement is about 10" ... morewide and I am not sure what if anything, it is missing but it also displays well with the set. All 8 wheels, including the large 5 1/4" in diameter tractor wheels, are very well made out of two pieces of stamped steel that have been pressed together( There is some wear and I think the set had another implement(s? but what is there is in good to very good original condition and the set displays very nicely just like it is. The metal pieces are very rusty and the curved wood portion is quite aged and has some shallow cracks and decay. The blade is held on with baling wire and is very loose. The handle is very worn. Split all the way through. It does show age appropriate wear. It has great patina! More of a decorative piece or a collectors item. In order to make it cost effective to ship this item, the blade would have to be removed. I'm not sure if that's even feasible or possible to do without stripping screws or splitting wood. Early Adjustable Cast & Wrought Iron Hay Sickle 33-1/2" Long 1830's to 1850's
NEW LOWER PRICE* Adjustable Hay Sickle made of cast& wrought iron 33-1/2" long with wood handles and wrought iron pins. This is the most incredible Wisconsin primitive I have ever come across. And the oldest I have ever seen. Each of the wrought iron blades are serrated on one end then two holes drilled on the other for mounting. They were then seated in four sections onto a cast iron frame with wrought iron pins then hammered together on both sides when the iron was heated to the right softness. It was an amazing assembly process! All blades were placed on the frame, then all the pins heated up most likely at the same time. As the pins hardened the Artisan could easily shift each blade into the proper position for a one piece appearance. The hardwood handles are nicely, and firmly attached to the frame, also using wrought iron pins. ... moreThe design was such that the handle could be adjusted for a left or right handed person, or simply to adjust to a particular operators cutting method. Embossed on the cast iron frame reads: H K W Q 4. The last about 4 inches of the blade end is curved downward. I would definitely like to state that this is one of the earliest handmade hand tools in the U.S. My best guess on the age would be 1830's to 1850's. An amazing piece of early handmade Americana! Antique Single Handed Sickle Hay Grain Cutter Good Working Condition
Up for sale is a real nice hand sickle. It is in good working condition. Everything is nice and tight. All original. It even has a little dried mud from the last time it was actually used. Very Cool. I like to let that on in case someone else loves it too. The blade itself is 11 5/8" long. And 2 1/4" wide at its widest point. The entire piece is 16 3/4" by 11 5/8" It still has some of its original red paint on the section between hard wood handle and blade. The handle design is nice with a notch for the inserted section and 2 metal pins driven through the handle. This is what you wanted back in the day. It has great design details.
