The 106 page professionally produced and published instruction manual included with this kit is fully illustrated with almost 250 photographs plus step-by-step instructions and sequences for disassembling, cleaning, reassembling and adjusting the critical components of the lathe. Click on the page samples above and hit the"zoom" button to see a close-up. The instruction are very straight forward and no prior machinery rennovation experience is required. The manual also includes a list of resources for vintage SBL owners as well as parts references, tool specifications, lubrication guides and material specifications. The text is printed in a font that is two points larger than is typical so if you getting up in years like me, you will not have to work at the bench with your reading glasses on. The consumable parts we include with the kit were all designed to be completely compatible with the 9" series of lathes. The wicks provide adequate lubrication to critical parts of the lathe while at the same time acting as a trap for dirt, chips and sludge. But it is'cosmetic damage' only and doesn't affect the operation of it. These are used on the headstock of a lathe for milling or drilling parts when used with the milling attachment in place of the tool post or for holding smaller diameter parts for machining that a standard 3 jaw or 4 jaw chuck is too big for. They run as true as any other drill chuck and can be used in place of 3-c or 5-c collets for odd sized parts that are in between the standard collet sizes and are either slightly too large to fit a collet or are smaller than what you would want to tighten one down to. South Bend Lathe Bed Clamp Taper Attachment
Looks to be the elusive bed clamp for a Southbend lathe. It measures 4.875 from the V for the way to the center of the rod to connect it to the taper attachment. Threads are 7/16 coarse on the rod. It has been cleaned and painted black. And has no visible casting numbers or stamped numbers on it. It does not fit a 13" too small) but I would guess a Heavy or Light 10, maybe a 9, or anything smaller than a 13 might fit.

Armstrong Lathe Tool Set A-00 South Bend Logan Craftsman Hardinge Atllas
This is a set of original American made lathe tools from Armstrong. It has what I believe to be two complete lantern style posts. Boring bar holder with original 1/2" bar and extra heads, a knurling tool that looks as if it was never used, cut off tools, square bit holders, and extra'stuff' I can't identify. I have no idea if this is complete, I assume it IS NOT because one slot is empty. The box is in sad shape with surface rust and one hinge basically gone but is still functional. I'm not a machinist but this looks like it would be a great addition to any shop. Atlas 10. South Bend, or Craftsman Lathe Turret Tool Holder I recently bought two Atlas 10 lathes that came from an older gentleman so some tooling and parts are excess to my needs. I will be listing these as I identify what I do not need. This is a fully functional turret tool holder for an Atlas 10F metalworking lathe. As such it should fit several Sears models as well. But I cannot personally verify that since I don’t have one to try it. I can verify that it fits the Morse Taper#2 tailstock on my South Bend 9 lathe. I got two of these and I’m keeping one. It is way better than the Chinese version I had before. I’m including an arbor with this turret so that you can use it as a model. These are easy to fabricate from 5/8” or larger round stock in various lengths as needed. This item is sold as is. I think that this nose piece fits the 13" South Bend as well. To help determine if this will fit your lathe spindle. I measure the large diameter of the taper as 1.625" and the small diameter as 1.550" measured over a length of 1-7/8"

This is a South Bend lathe 4c collet closer is very decent condition. Should fit older 14.5. 16 and 16/24 machines but check your dimensions. It is obviously used but not abused. Threaded end has lots of life left and the thrust bearing end is free and spins easily. Tube is 20.5" in length. Overall length from end to end is 24 3/8" Tube diameter is approx 1 1/8" There is minor rust inside the tube due to age. Sorry, I don't have the hardened spindle adaptor for the collets. Selling ONLY the complete collet drawbar. Model stamped on this is HW 102. Please examine pictures closely and ask questions if any doubt. You are buying used Bison 10" 4-jaw lathe chuck. I will include a chuck key. It has a D1-5 mount on it. The pin diameters are.748" The hole in the center is 2-1/2" diameter. I am not sure what lathe this was used on but it may fit South Bend. Leblond, or others. It may also fit import lathes. This is a South Bend 9" Model C. And is a nice working machine. It comes with the bench, a 3 Jaw Chuck, a 4 jaw chuck, 3 MT dead center, 2 MT dead center and 2#2 MT live centers. Also included are 3 lathe dogs, lathe dog faceplate, 2 drill chucks, a#3MT to#2 MT adapter sleeve, 1 box of indexable carbide bits, another box of fixed carbide bits, and several HSS bits. Also a left, right and straight tool holders(Armstrong I think) knurling tool, parting off tool, rebuild kit and book, Partial bottles of A,B,C, and Way Oil. There is a tool holder that reverses to be a left or right. There is a#2 MT insert used to hold round stock for drilling.
