As most of the early ones were altos. ... moreThis is a fact; The tenors are in fact hard to find. That being said, this can best described(and often is) as a"Player's" horn. It has been relacquered; with a rather speckled appearance, it is about 70-80% lacquer remaining. The engraving is clear, and relatively sharp. As a"Player's Horn" It has seen some action, is still a venerable instrument, serviced with good pads, in solid flight case. It is on the freer-blowing end of the spectrum with a nice. Fat projection. The sound itself is slightly on the brighter side of neutral, but it's a very complex and warm kind of brightness. It has a certain flexibility that makes it quite a joy to play! Please be aware that there has been some dent work on the horn(in the bow area) some resoldering of Bell Key guards. In addition to a neck pull-down that was gently repaired. These are rare saxophones as most of the Selmers of this period are altos; they are a good find. The instrument has been put into good playing condition by a professional repairman. It is fully regulated and PLAYS VERY WELL RIGHT NOW. The pads are in good to excellent condition with some new pads. They have vinyl resonators. In our estimation no further work needs to be done on this saxophone. And it will give the player much, much playing time with no need of repair. This being said, as just stated, it has had dent work done on the bow area and the bell. The bow is about as smoothed out as it can be. Nonetheless, a couple of smallish dings in the bell and bow area well be removed in the next week and before the instrument is sold and shipped. Also we will replace the F key pad. As you can see both the Eb and low C key guards have been resoldered; This does not look like a fantastic job, but they are in fact very secure. Thanks for looking at my Tenor sax neck piece.The mouthpiece is stuck on the cork portion of this neck piece. The mouthpiece is a Woodwinds B5 Educators mouthpiece. There are no dents in this neck piece just lacquer wear. I do not know the brand but it has 070 stamped on it. If you need a neck piece for an older saxophone(I am guessing a Conn? then this might be just what you need. The portion that inserts into the actual saxophone is nice and round. This is the rare and highly sought after Yamaha tenor saxophone F1 tapered neck in silver finish. This neck has always been tricky to locate and purchase. 1939 King Zephyr Tenor Saxophone (2095XX) PERFECT! Super 20 Pedigree
Due to a divorce and job loss. I’m listing a very special horn to me. It is a family owned 1939 King Zephyr tenor saxophone(Three neck strap hook and double socket neck. The horn is in stellar condition and has been completely overhauled. It has been re-lacquered in its life, but retains crisp engraving. It features black Roo pads with Abalone key pearls. It has also had the thumb hook and thumb rest updated to Selmer modern specs for comfort and ease of playing. All mechanisms have been adjusted and regulated. Horn comes in a brand new with tags Protec Extra Large Contoured Pro Pac Case. The horn has a very centered tone with that classic American jazz sound. Also included is the original 1939 King mouthpiece(no ligature. It is white and is reminiscent of the classic Brilhart mouthpieces. Often open to debate but what has been told to me ... moreby a King specialty technician is that the 1939 King Zephyr and Zephyr Special shared everything regarding neck and bore. But the Special received extra pearl touches and enhanced engraving. The early Super 20 which debuted in 1939 was essentially a Zephyr Special with a solid silver neck which was gold lacquered but still shared the exact same neck size and bore size. Because of this. The King Zephyr from this time period are considered to be hidden gems due to the similarities that they shared with the Super 20 minus the cosmetics. Selmer Series II Tenor Saxophone
Up for bid is this Selmer Series II Tenor Saxophone. The serial numbers dates it in the 1990s. My son used this horn for several years. And we recently purchased another horn that matches his sound better. This is a professional horn that we have kept serviced on a regular basis. Mechanically excellent, this is a used horn and shows normal wear and lacquer loss in expected places. There is one very small dent located just to the top right of the serial number, but this doesn't effect the sound or playability. The neck has no dents but has lots of lacquer loss and oxidation which does not effect sound. There are scratches near the bow and the bottom of the bell as shown in the pictures. This horn produces a focused full sound on the brighter end of the spectrum. This is an excellent horn for a serious player. This horn comes in a used ... moresoft Gator brand case. There will NOT be included any mouthpiece or neck strap, as these are a preference for individual players and should be purchased or previously owned separately. We purchased this horn from a professional horn shop, where it was serviced and all pads meticulously checked for replacement. Since purchase, we have kept it in excellent mechanical shape through regular tune-up servicing and pad replacement as needed. Excellent Vintage CONN 10M Tenor Saxophone ***** Sax
Here is an excellent 10M with all new pads. Corks, and felts. It plays perfectly- top note to bottom. There are no dents, creases, or repairs. All pivot pin set screws are in place. The neck is perfect- never pulled down or dented. Intonation is excellent and easily lights green all the way up and down the scale on our tuner. The pads are well seated. The horn plays low Bb with hardly any effort. It has a big, deep voice. The"Naked Lady" these were all hand engraved at the factory- we think is particularly winsome. This is a really, really good 10M. Now, the negatives, which are hard to find. The lacquer is not original, although it looks like it is(see pics) It certainly wasn't over-buffed, if at all. The lacquer is 98% or better. There is very slight lacquer wear at the neck strap attachment ring and on the neck. The nickel ... moreplating is 99% with only a few small marks on the octave key. The serial number, 331XXX indicates a late 1948 date of manufacture, about one year after CONN stopped making rolled tone holes. There is one pencil point ding near the thumb rest- too small to notice. There isn't much to criticize. The horn is beautiful and the tiny blemishes it does have can't be seen from more than a few feet away. It doesn't need anything and is gig ready out of the case. If you've ever wanted a 10M you'd love this one. They don't come much better. It will be shipped in a secure case that isn't pretty but will serve. The horn will be packed like fine china, with an end plug for safety. U.S. buyer to pay $38.00 for shipping. Conn DJH Modified 94M Tenor Saxophone Made in West Germany by Keilwerth
This is a Conn 94M tenor saxophone made in West Germany by Keilwerth for Conn(also known as a"DJH Modified" with straight tone holes. The serial number is a Keilwerth number 86XXX and has matching number on the neck and dates this horn to around 1983. The engraving on the bell is the typical"Naked Lady" pattern. But does not have the actual naked lady or the words"DJH Modified" on it. The lacquer is original and is in excellent condition with the exception of a few very minor scratches, one small ding near the bottom, some wear on the left pinky keys and another small 1/4" spot on the body where finish has chipped or worn. I got this in hopes of resurrecting my sax playing hobby but have rarely touched this in the two years I've owned it. Unfortunately it has been in storage most of the time and definitely ... moreneeds to find a good home because this sax looks great and sounds even better! Hopefully you can tell in the photos that the pads are in almost new condition. This comes with a Conn hardshell case. A DJH 5* mouthpiece, ligature and cap, and a neckstrap(all pictured) The mouthpiece looks to be decent quality but for some reason has discolored from black to brownish color. It looks nice except for a couple of ugly resoldered posts on the back of the body. The neck has no lacquer. This is one of the last"transitional" 10M's. Since the 10M stamp above the SN# started around 276xxx. These horns are really really great players with a big, rich, dark tone that is medium-spread, but more focused and under-control than a New Wonder II. They also have really fast, comfortable keywork(once you stop trying to make them be a Selmer and let them do their own thing) The intonation is also good. Good working condition. Recent repad, pearls, with mouthpiece. Serial number 2441. This horn is a Bb tenor. Made by Pierret(from France) It is an"Oxford" model, the same model that Santy Runyon used as his signature model. Pierret did not make entry-level, or beginner's quality instruments. Although not as popular or nearly as well known as Selmer, Pierret had a reputation for making fine instruments, and even now there are many in the professional sax community that are very dedicated to the brand and loyal supporters of the Pierret brand name. Pierret built instruments from 1906 to 1972. This is a working horn.may need minor set-up and cleaning, but you should expect to be able to pull this from the case and play it AS-IS. It had been completely gone through by a professional woodwind repair department before I bought it. ... moreThis particular instrument appears to have been produced between 1945 and 1949 by serial number comparison. When French manufacturers were extremely concerned with quality and reputation, and striving to get back the business they had enjoyed before WWII. This sax has benefited from a complete repad and rework before I bought it, as earlier mentioned. There are no foul oders coming from the horn or the case. Case is an older vintage model, but still protects the horn well. Cork is good(newer) as well as the pearl button over-lays, and the laquer looks original. Ergonomically, this horn might not be quite what some of the newer horns are today, but the sound that comes from this instrument is very nice. Auction includes a Yamaha 5C mouthpiece. My main interests are in guitars and banjos. Mandolins and other stringed instruments. So if you have questions regarding this instrument, please ask. Here is a vintage 1963 EK Blessing tenor sax. Stamped EK Blessing Co Elkhart Ind Artist Model. Serial# 126193 dates it to 1963. Some dents and tarnish. Pads look like they need attention. I do not play sax. But a sax playing friend tried it and he was able to play it a bit. I would say that you will need to take it to a tech, get it adjusted, and possibly new pads. Gorgeous King CLEVELAND Zephyr Series IV Tenor Saxophone. Serial# 402713 making date of manufacture'64-65; before the Eastlake move. This horn has normal lacquer wear and scratches. But is not a relacquer and plays and functions perfectly. Tone holes show no corrosion. Neck is original. No pull down. Rods straight and true. 1 or 2 dings 2-3mm(I'm trying for full disclosure, but overstating it) No dents. Bow is perfect. To make it better, I had it adjusted, recorked where needed, and completely repadded in gray'roo skin. I am selling it to pare down my vintage tenor collection prior to retirement. Will ship in vintage King instrument case. Horn mistakenly listed as a Series II. It is a series IV: does not have triple strap hook or double socket neck. Otherwise no change to listing.

F.E. Olds& Son Ambassador Tenor Saxophone Vintage late 1940s- early 1950s This horn was given to me in 1992 by a family friend. And I never played it. The horn is definitely in need of TLC in the form of professional cleaning, new pads/ corks, and maybe some adjustments or replacements of springs. I'm not a professional, but looking around on the web I'd say one could expect to pay around $200- $300 to restore the horn to playable condition at a professional repair facility. Re-lacquering the horn would make it look amazing, but the vintage tarnish is cool too. Research on the serial number( 50483) indicates is was made some time in the late 40s or early 50s(pre-1952 for sure) Olds did not manufacture their own saxophones at that time- so this is likely a Martin. This item came from an estate and looks like it was hardly played because there is not much scratching at all but item did most likely stay stored for a long time. I took item to a windworks store that specializes in repairs and restorations and had it repaired. The items that were repaired are as follows: bent/ rusted rod lower stack removed straightened and repaired. Bent C# key repaired, 2 pads replaced. Condition as described by shop is that this in excellent overall condition, plays from top to bottom, no air leaks. Keys are lacquered, mother of pearl, metal done resonators. 1980's OTTO LINK STM TENOR SAX SAXOPHONE MOUTHPIECE 6*
Otto Link"super" tone master tenor saxophone mouthpiece with a 6* six star on the shank) tip opening from the 1980's. This piece is well used(good because it means it works) with signs of the gold plate fading to show the silver plate underneath. There are some small file marks on the chamber but these are very small. Tip and rails are in excellent original condition. Bite plate is unmarked. This piece has a real Coltrane vibe being very powerful at the top end of the tenor. Bottom end pops out nicely too. A great full-on Link sound. Ligature and cap included. I'm sure if these are original but they fit and work well.

CONN CHU-BERRY SILVER PLATED Bb TENOR SAXOPHONE W/ BRAND NEW PADS SERIAL# 228202 CIRCA 1928 W/ ROLLED TONE HOLES ORIGINAL SILVER PLATE(90% BRAND NEW PADS(W/ METAL RESONATORS) THIS SAXOPHONE HAS BEEN REFURBISHED CONN'S ORIGINAL ROLLED TONE HOLES. I've Played/ Testing this Great Vintage Chu-Berry Tenor. And I always enjoy the Monsterous Sound they produce. This Tenor Body was an excellent candidate for refurbishing. For there were minimal dings on the Body, and my Techman only had to resolder a couple of Key Guard Posts, and the thin Key Guard that protects the trill Key on the back of the Sax. There's wear to the Gold Wash on the inside of the Bell(see photos) And there's some minimal plating wear just around the right thumb rest, and also the left hand palm keys. The roller Keys were completely Frozen on this Tenor. And could ... morenot be salvaged, so, I had my Techman remove the Catalin Rollers from a 40's Buescher, and he had to make only one out of Catalin(the Red one seen in the photo) The case is a 1960's case. Brilhart White Personaline L6 tenor saxophone mouthpiece refaced by Erik G.
For auction is a Brilhart Personaline L6 tenor saxophone mouthpiece that has been refaced to a.105 by Erik Greiffenhagen. One of the best in the business and a partner of Brian Powell in Mouthpiece Cafe. Other than a small toothmark and some faded writing it is in perfect shape and has an absolutely beautiful sound. Not a rock and roll or lead piece, this is more for combos and smaller groups as it has a sound somewhat reminiscent of Stan Getz. The mouthpiece and reface cost me quite a bit so you will be getting a great deal here. To sweeten things even more, I will include a Saxscape tenor saxophone prototype.102 mouthpiece. The mother of pearl inlays on the keys all look quite good; the polished ... moresteel finish on the keys. Though, is tarnished and cloudy in places. The felt stop pads look very good. Too. The pads all look supple and appear to seal well. All springs felt consistent and smooth. As mentioned above. The saxophone has many scratches, a few scuffs and some dents. The scratches are concentrated on the bell. The U-section and the back of the main tube, especially around the strap loop. The dents are primarily on the bell and the U-section. Though there are a few small ones elsewhere, including the neck and main tube. There are some scuffs on the bottom of the U-section. Rust appears to be confined to joints and brazed areas. Like where the hardware is mounted to the body. The neck is in good condition with some scratching and wear and also one significant dent. The cork for the mouthpiece is in very nice condition. The key operates easily. Two mouthpieces are included: one appears to be original. It’s marked with a signature of Leo M. Tenor Saxophone Martin Indiana
The"Indiana" serial number is 78602. Purchased from Sax Alley in Colorado in July 31, 2004. It is considered Martin's student/intermediate model because of features not usually found on a student model. The lacquer is original. This model features engraving of a Native American Chief. The entire saxophone is in very good condition. It comes with its original Martin case which is also in very good condition, rare for the age of this horn. It has been serviced at Seacat Music in Manheim, PA. The instrument comes with two neck straps, stand, box of reeds, manufacturer's notes, and service records. The saxophone is being played regularly and everything functions well. It has a beautiful, full sound, especially in the lower register.
